leksdigital:Thank you. The man who promised anti corruption crusade has just pardoned convicted criminals far younger than many professors on health ground and some pained souls want the lecturers to back down. There is money indeed but the will to rechannel it is next to none. |

wwwihy: This aptly described the differences between government funded Universities and Privately run Universities. This is the best and most precise summary of an ambiguous situation I have ever seen in recent time. Most of the youths will not understand this your statement. ASUU expects capitalist salaries in a Socialist Universities system. This is not fair to students whose parents cannot afford private universities. The corruption in Nigeria has become part of the system. ASUU cannot because of high corruption in various sectors of the economy expect a special allocation while the government is funding the universities and there is alternative for those who have money to send their children to private universities. It is the children of the poor in socialist universities that are suffering. ASUU should work out a mechanism whereby all lecturers in both private and public universities go on strike the same time. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Bowen charges high fees, and as such have enough money to meet Mr Lecturer's needs, and build facilites.... Government university charges low fees, and as such does not have enough money to meet its needs. ASUU and FG know the solution...but it is not one they want to face. 2 Likes |

IKBARUTEN11: Keep standing with the greedy ASUU. Una eye go soon clear sey this strike is majorly about their salaries and payment system. 1.2 trillion naira is not going to come out anywhere unless is not APC that rules this country. Those standing with these greedy bastards should get chair and canopy because is going to be a long standing that will amount to nothing. The day they will call it off, all their salaries during the strike period will be wire into their account that means the lecturers are not even sacrificing nothing. Next year reins and repeat. Every other thing mentioned there is camouflage. ASUU does not have students or Nigerian University at heart. People that are holding students hostage for their selfish interest. We all know what we call those that hold people hostage, except that ASUU are not using guns. I know that this plain truth will not go well with lecturers or the misguided follows of ASUU in this forum. 5 Likes 1 Share |

RepoMan007:By employer, you mean private schools and businesses where you will be used until your usefulness becomes uselessness. It takes special grace to get into multinationals and some government organizations. That is where work is. every other work is labour that Tinubu believe will be in vain. |

Zenzu01: It has nothing to do with our leaders. Infact in this regard our leaders are still sensitive because we still pay little for tertiary education Tertiary education isn't cheap anywhere in the world. People will and should pay for it. It is primary and secondary that should be made free and quantitative. You cannot be practicing socialism with tertiary education. It does not work anywhere in the world It is the truth we all are running away from 3 Likes 1 Share |
