This question suggests Russia (Putin) has the mindset of a criminal.

A rapist insists that if only his victim were “reasonable, and appeased” him, he wouldn’t be forced to cut her up with a dagger
The kidnappers of a small child insist that if the parents only “reasonable, and appeased” them, they wouldn’t be forced to murder the child they held in captivity.
Extortionists insist that if the shop owners of a neighborhood were just “reasonable, and appeased” them by paying “protection money,” they wouldn’t be forced to smash up the shops.
Russia insists that if only Ukraine would give up its sovereignty, the right to choose their allies, the right to elect who is in their government, the right to speak out against the government, the right to defend themselves, and just generally be “reasonable, and appease” Russia, well then Russia wouldn’t have to force 5 million from their homes, rape and murder civilians, and destroy entire cities.
Ukraine is not “caught between two superpowers.” One (The West) is helping Ukraine defend itself from rape, murder, and millions displaced, and the other (Russia) is committing every crime humanity has ever invented, against Ukraine.


The choice for Ukraine is really quite simple. Side with the police who intend to help you stay alive and free, or side with the murderer who promises to kill you if you’re unwilling to become a slave.
