A petition calling to ban Anthony Taylor from officiating Chelsea matches has received thousands of signatures after Sunday's fiery clash with Tottenham ended in a 2-2 draw.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, who was sent off along with Tottenham counterpart Antonio Conte, feels both of Tottenham's goals in 2-2 controversial draw at Stamford Bridge should have been disallowed and believes referee Anthony Taylor should never officiate his side again.

Tuchel was incensed that Kai Havertz was not awarded a free-kick in the build-up to Tottenham's first equalising goal.

Cristian Romero then avoided punishment deep into injury-time for pulling Marc Cucurella's hair with VAR Mike Dean ruling out a red card. From the subsequent corner, Harry Kane headed in to snatch the draw.
Chelsea fans have long claimed an agenda from Taylor against the Blues following a string of decisions against them in previous games.

Asked whether Taylor should never referee Chelsea again, the German replied: "Maybe it would be better. I don't think that just some of the fans think that: I can assure you that the whole dressing room of us, every person thinks that.

Chelsea fans have long claimed an agenda from Taylor against the Blues following a string of decisions against them in previous games.

"Not only the fans. You know the players, they know what's going on when they are on the pitch. They know it."

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel’s plea to prevent Anthony Taylor from taking charge of his team’s future matches is set to be ignored by referee chiefs.

The German coach is being investigated by the Football Association for his remarks after Sunday’s controversial draw against Tottenham in which he appeared to question Taylor’s impartiality and called for the official not to referee future Chelsea matches.

Whether Tuchel is charged by the FA for his comments or not, the Professional Game Management Officials (PGMOL) are virtually certain not to stand Taylor down from Chelsea games.

In the short-term it is unlikely that Taylor will take charge of Blues games anyway because referees are in rotation and do not officiate the same club twice in a short space of time.
But there is no plan to take Taylor off Chelsea matches this season.

And in a bid to put an end to such controversial decisions from happening in the future, The Premier League introduces new independent panel to review key refereeing decisions with the findings to be passed on to all 20 clubs.

The new panel includes three former players, a Premier League representative and a PGMOL official.

Recently retired referees Jon Moss and Martin Atkinson - who have taken on roles at the PGMOL - would have the credentials to be part of the process.

These new measures are viewed as a positive step towards greater transparency for clubs with regards to referees decisions.
