The first thing that you may need for your Dubai visit is a valid Dubai visa. But, once you successfully enter the country with your Dubai visa and its validity is about to expire, you will have this doubt whether or not your Dubai or UAE visa can be extended. That’s why we have this exclusive post for you! It guides you on the procedures or steps included in your tourist visa extension.

What is a Tourist Visa in Dubai?
As indicative of its name, a tourist visa is issued to a visitor who is looking to travel to Dubai for tourism or short term purpose. Whether or not you will need a visa largely depends on your nationality as the citizens of certain countries are eligible for a visa free entry or a visa on arrival at the airport.

There are two categories of Dubai tourist visas: Single Entry and Multiple Entry. While a single entry visa allows you to make a single visit to Dubai, a multiple entry visa gives the flexibility to travel in and out of Dubai or the country as many number of times you wish during its validity period.

Be it single entry or multiple entry visa, it is mostly issued for a period of 30 days or 90 days. Apart from these, there is five year visa with which tourists can make multiple visits to the country and stay up to a period of 90 days on every Dubai / UAE visit.

Things to know about Dubai Tourist Visa
• A Dubai or UAE visa is valid for 30 days or 90 days.
• All nationalities (who are not eligible for a visa free entry or visa on arrival) must apply for their Dubai visa prior to their Dubai visit.
• Women below 18 years are eligible to apply for a tourist visa, only if they are accompanied by their parents.
• With effect from 2018, all kids below 18 years traveling to Dubai (between 15th July and 15th September every year) are eligible for a free Dubai tourist visa.

Is it Possible to Renew or Extend a Dubai / UAE Tourist Visa?
Yes, it is possible to extend or renew a Dubai visa and this is applicable to all categories of Dubai visas. You can renew it twice where your visa is extendable for a period of 30 days each time. In the case of five years visa, you get to extend your stay for next 90 days.
