The Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP),AIG Asuquo Amba has reiterated the resolve of the OBA/AMBA joint ticket to rescue Akwa Ibom State from its current situation.

He promised to support his Principal, Senator Bassey Albert as Governor come 2023, to change the fortunes of the State for the better when elected as Deputy Governor.

AIG Amba made the statement in his Uyo residence when a group, Akwa Ibom Unity Forum, paid him a familiarisation visit, recently.

The Director General of the group, Rt.Hon.Uko Idiong, while speaking thanked God for the choice of AIG Amba which he described as divine and lauded the incoming Deputy Governor for his integrity and good antecedents while serving the nation in various capacities.


Retired AIG Amba was at various time the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Commissioner of Police before becoming the Assistant Inspector of Police .

Idiong lauded Amba for his enormous contributions to Akwa Ibom State, expressing the optimism that he shall bring his wealth of experience to bear in fostering peace and security in the State come 2023.

Also speaking, the BOT Chairman of the group, Hon.Charles Ndanyongmong, equally eulogized the incoming Deputy Governor for his goodwill and love for the people of Akwa ibom state and assured that his joint ticket with Senator Bassey Albert shall bring dividends of good governance as well as peace and unity to Akwa Ibom State.

Highpoint of the visit was an official presentation of special regalia of the group to the Deputy Governorship Candidate and his dear wife, Chief Janet Amba.
