PDP Congratulates Osun Governor-Elect On His Victory In Court

Osun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has congratulated the Governor-Elect, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke for the victory recorded today at the federal high court, Abuja, in a suit instituted against his nomination as PDP Candidate in the July 16 governorship election in Osun State.

A federal high court in Abuja had on Thursday struck out a suit filed by one Awoyemi Olutayo Lukman against the Governor-Elect on the grounds that the plaintiff lacked locus to institute the case.

Delivering judgement on the matter, Justice Obiora Egwuatu described the suit as improper, statute barred and therefore, the court lacked jurisdiction to hear the case.

In a congratulatory statement by the State PDP Caretaker Committee Chairman , Dr Akindele Adekunle on Thursday, the PDP welcomed the court pronouncement as further testament to the fact that the popular mandate of the people given to Senator Ademola Adeleke on July 16, cannot be stolen by any agent of darkness, masquerading around in whatever name and stature.

The PDP described as futile and empty, unscrupulous attempts by those he described as agents of destabilization in the state to steal mandate of the people through the backdoor, as such efforts are mere inordinate attempt to wrestle against God and army of the people of Osun State, in a battle already won fair and square.

Dr Akindele further expressed confidence that the victory recorded by Senator Ademola Adeleke at the poll is like a tree planted by God Almighty, which makes it absolutely impossible for anyone to uproot. He assured residents of the State that the Governor-Elect appreciates the unwavering support of the people being demonstrated on daily basis even after the governorship election.

The overwhelming support from all segments of the state, according Osun PDP helmsman, will continue to inspire the Governor-Elect as he looks forward to delivering on his electoral promises to the people.

Let's Come together and Make our state Great. This is more Noble than Continued Rabble Housing.

PDP Constitutes Caretaker Committee for Osun State Chapter

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has, on behalf of National Executive Committee (NEC), constituted a Caretaker Committee to pilot the affairs of the Osun State Chapter of the Party with effect from today, Thursday, August 18, 2022.

The decision which is sequel to the expiration of the tenure of the previous Caretaker Committee, is in line with the powers of the NWC under the PDP Constitution 2017 (as amended).

The members of the Osun Caretaker Committee are

The Osun State Caretaker Committee is charged with the responsibility of running the affairs of the Party in Osun State, as stipulated in Section 21(2)(a-b) of the PDP Constitution for a period not exceeding 90 days (3 months); or till a new Executive Committee is elected.

The PDP charges all members of our Party in Osun to remain united and focused on our Party’s mission to Rescue, Redirect and Rebuild our nation from the misrule of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Osun Governor-Elect Raises Alarm over Criminal Diversion and Mopping up on LG Fund

The Office of Governor - Elect of Osun state has received credible reports of an illegal directive to local governments to return about 80 percent of recent allocations to the state in cash under very dubious arrangement.

According to the report, amount to be returned to the state by each of the council varies from 30 to 25 million naira, leaving most of the local governments with about two to three million naira left after such criminal cash return to the Ministry of Local Government at Osogbo.

The most criminal part of the directive was that the council managers are expected to prepare paper work to cover up the withdrawn fund and categorised it as spent amount within the local government financial records.

The report also revealed that the 30 local governments and area council are to conclude the fund movement to Osogbo latest by tomorrow Friday. We are aware that the council managers have been busy working to implement the directive as the fund are to be returned to the Ministry in cash before close of work tomorrow.

It is against the above background that the Governor-elect of Osun state, Senator Ademola Adeleke is urging council managers to beware of criminal conduct and collusion that may jeopardise their career and land them in corruption trial.

Senator Adeleke questioned why legitimately allocated fund meant for the local governments are being withdrawn under such shady conditions, describing the cash withdrawal directive as "a clear act of criminal diversion of public fund.

"We want to put on records that we are closely monitoring the reported fund movement from the source to the destination. Those involved in the corruption enterprise should stop the plan as all the facts of the deal are in our possession.

"All last minutes agenda to further bankrupt Osun state are being monitored and documented. Any public servant involved in such dirty deal will be held accountable. Any elected or appointed official who engaged in the last minutes looting of Osun treasury will face full wrath of the law. We particularly call on council managers and bureaucrats to reject any illegal directive", the Governor -elect affirmed.

ADELEKE WINS AGAIN!!

One of the cases being banked upon by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the outgoing Governor of Osun State, Alh. Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola to upturn the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party and it's candidate at the Osun 2022 Governorship election was the case tossed into the dustbin today by the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja. The plaintiffs (busybodies and interlopers) had instituted the action challenging the validity of the nomination of Senator Nurudeen Ademola ADELEKE as the candidate of the PDP at the said Osun 2022 governorship election. They claimed that Adeleke's name was submitted outside the period stipulated by INEC enabled by the Electoral Act 2022 within which a candidate's name must be submitted to INEC.

The fact of the case was that the plaintiff stated that Adeleke's name was submitted a day earlier than the period stipulated for the submission of names of candidates to INEC. What a laughable position! They crafted the case in such a way as to look as if Adeleke's name was submitted later than the period stipulated by INEC, so they presented their case to the court that Adeleke submitted his name "outside" the period stipulated by INEC.

Apart from the fact that the assertion was not true as Adeleke's name was submitted to INEC's portal since it was opened for submission and they accepted same, the hard copy acknowledged by INEC was submitted within the window stipulated by the Commission. At any rate, what business has a non-participant at the primary election that produced the PDP's candidate who equally was a non-member of our Party got to do with the candidature of Adeleke. Where is the locus? Worse still, the case was filed out of time, therefore bad for being statute barred. It was a flagrant abuse of court process.

For His Excellency, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, it has been victory upon victory. May God Almighty grant me too victory over my enemies and adversaries. The "server hopefuls" should know that nothing dey for them. IMOLE HAS COME TO STAY IN OSUN.
