The Academic Staff Union of University, ASUU went on strike since the 14th February, 2022 over their demands from Federal Government

The strike which has lasted for over 6 months is about to be called off as they have come to a compromise.

However, another seemly cog to the wheel of Nigerian University Students getting back to lecture halls for lecture is the demand of ASUU that, for the 6 months they went on strike, their salaries must be paid.

Quoting Education Minister Abdullah Adamu
“All contentious issues between the government and ASUU had been settled except the quest for members’ salaries for the period of strike, a demand that Buhari has flatly rejected,”

I found this disdainful and Insulting to Nigerian students whose precious time has been wasted away by Federal Government and ASUU.

If ASUU is dare paid by Federal Government for the 6 months they were on strike, they should be ready to compensate Nigerian students for the time wasted.

Also Federal Government and ASUU must should tender apology to Nigerian students for wasting their precious time.

I hope legal proceedings follow this.

There are some other ways.

They can also be compensated by allowing them not to pay anything has school fee for the current semester and those who have paid be refunded.

ASSU to me is a fraudulent selfish organization under the guise of 'helping ' students and segregate those universities who don't join them , its like a cyclical victim scam , because the government has paid them once , they would keep demanding, keep going on strike , anytime their butt itches ,I mean why kick a country ecomically down its petty and sad.
