They're so quick to want to claim this for their bigot-in-chief....even trying their hardest to get it named 'Muhammadu Buhari bridge'! Fcking idiots!

These are the same people that were so happy to see Buhari cheat, marginalise, hate and ridicule Ndigbo right from 2015 with the excuse that 'we put all our eggs in one basket....we gave APC 5%.....we shouldn't expect to reap where we didn't sow'! All of a sudden, these same Igbo-hating bigots are rushing to look for projects in the south-east that they can attribute to Buhari! What a volte-face!

It's a known fact, only the shallow minded attributes it to Buhari.
The truth is that most Nigerians ll prefer paying toll and using good roads. What it cost me to repair my car underneath monthly is more than enough to pay for toll in a whole year.

That is why nobody will pity your unfortunate and ingrate attitude. GEJ, Yaradua and OBJ awarded and paid too many non-existing projects. Under GEJ nothing was done in that bridge beside physical design, we saw how it was started in 2018 after GEJ was out of power from zero to where it is today. It is obvious you only want power but not infrastructure at all. This is the highest absurdity I have seen recently.

I believe it was more than that, the sand dredging was done late 2014, my uncle obum gave an 18 million naira contract to fill up a newly bought swamp land at okpoko in onitsha, the sand used were dredged out from the bridge site, piling, foundation and pillar raising where all done before 29 may 2015, 60% of bridge work is done in the foundation.

So in your village bridges are built without foundations talkless of one built on water.
In 2018, Buhari created the Presidential Infrastructure Development Fund (PIDF) to build the N206bn 2nd-Niger Bridge. And in September 2018, construction began with PMB funding it through PIDF and $100m of
FG’s Abacha loot . Buhari disbursed N157bn from 2018-2021 for the bridge.
The news that former President Goodluck Jonathan paid 30% of the N206bn is outright falsehood. On record no state is part of funding the project as claimed by some people because the noise would have been louder about their input especially due to the fact that those mentioned states are opposition party staes. Muhammadu Buhari through his PIDF created, to fund Lagos-Ibadan, Abuja-Kaduna-Kano, 2nd-Niger Bridge , disbursed the funds through FG.

Second Niger Bridge funding: this bridge was proposed by President Shehu Shagari. Shagari approved the design of the project but was ousted from power by Gen Buhari. In 1987, IBB also approved an improved design.

Obasanjo, flagged off the project in Asaba but could not execute it. Yar Adua approved that the Project should be executed under a Public Private Partnership. OBJ approved N58.6bn which disappeared to thin air.
Yar Adua approved that 60% should come from the contractor, GITTO GROUP; 20% from FG not and 10% from Anambra and Delta states. Unfortunately, under Yar Adua, the project was suspended.

Then Goodluck Jonathan, approved in August 2012 at Federal Executive Council a sum of N325m for the new design of the bridge that Shagari, IBB, OBJ had approved and money paid for this design.
GITTO could not execute the project. So, the PPP signed with the contractors defaulted. Julius Berger was brought in to replace GITTO. President Buhari, decided to establish a Presidential Infrastructure Development Fund, PIDF that all Govs approved during National Economic Council to fund the project and other proposed projects across the Nation including Abuja-Kano, Lagos-Ibadan roads rehabilitation among others.
The Governors agreed that a sum of $650m should be transferred from Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas, NLNG dividend account at CBN as initial seed to fund projects critical to nation development as we can not rely on budgetary allocation.
The project was awarded to Julius Berger for a sum of N206bn by NSIA via Federal Ministry of Works & Housing and approved by FG. Again, PPP did not work and died. Then, Gen. Sani Abacha‘s loot came in and part of the agreement signed during repatriation of the fund is to fund critical projects in Nigeria and is being used to fund the project too.
The project was reviewed in three phases . The first phase was N206bn; Second phase: N88.09bn; Third phase: N112.09bn. Combined cost is N406.2bn
A new company was introduced to help Julius Berger called Reynolds Construction Company on 8th October 2019 that is construction of 17.5km My own Onitsha link road ( Onitsha to Okpa Enugu Expressway) and its associated infrastructure.
Again, National Economic Council approved that $250m should be deducted from EXCESS CRUDE OIL ACCOUNT to the Nigerian Sovereign Wealth Fund. That is part of Presidential Infrastructure Development Fund. This is one of the infrastructure projects responsible for shrinking ECA.
NSIA also released the sum of N157bn and the work is 91% complete. One of the iconic and legacy projects FUNDED by President Buhari’s Govt.

No any state Govt contribute 10% to the funding of Second Niger Bridge. It could be recalled that Hon. Chuma Nzeribe led the battle that FG should fund the project despite clear commitment by the her.
