Those potbellied guys are senior office while the US naval guys are more of junior officers and the tank and file. I have seen very fit Nigerian navy personnel here in Nigeria. I believe if the reverse were the case the boat crew from Nigeria will equally be looking fit.

Whilst you're right in your argument, I can tell you that even the junior officers here in Nigeria are not fit.

And, not every member of the Nigerian navy contingent in the picture is a senior officer.

Also, go check the US navy senior officers and still compare and contrast with Nigerian navy senior officers. You'll discover that the US navy senior officers do not have pot bellies like their Nigerian counterparts.

I only want to console myself walahi. In Geidam local government here in Yobe, guys kept accusing the southerners that they are the cause of buhari's endless failures. The coast guard is a paramilitary force in the US, similar to Nigeria's marine police.

The US Coast guard is nothing like the Nigerian marine force. US coast guard is one of the 6 branches of the US armed forces having jurisdiction in both US domestic and international waters.

They are not under Navy. They are under Homeland security unlike the rest of the armed forces that are under the Department of defense. And yes, US coast guard operates both within US and outside.
