Atiku’s Presidency Is Threatened Because Of Breach Of Power Rotation – Okechukwu

A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Osita Okechukwu has said that the refusal to honour the power rotation principle is destroying Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar‘s chances at the 2023 election.
Okechukwu, while speaking to journalists on Sunday in Abuja, referred to the APC Northern Governors’ letter to President Muhammadu Buhari dated June 4, 2022, as evidence that the rotation of the presidency between the North and South is intended to unite the country.

He quoted the governors saying, “After careful deliberation, we wish to state our firm conviction that after eight years in the office of President Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the APC for 2023 election should be one of our teeming members from the southern states of Nigeria.

“It is a question of honour for the APC, an obligation that is not in any way affected by the decisions taken by another political party. We affirm that upholding this principle is in the interest of building a stronger, more united.”

He also recounted former president Olusegun Obasanjo’s statement on the matter: “I am very much aware that it’s the turn of the South to produce the next President of Nigeria. I was part of the meeting when the agreement was made between Northern and Southern Leaders. I am even surprised PDP gave her ticket to another North candidate.

“It will be an injustice to the South if the North retains Power after 8 years of rule.”

He, therefore, argued that it would be quite difficult for Atiku to defeat the APC Northern Governors’ Forum, President Muhammadu Buhari, former President, Olusegun Obasanjo and a host of other unifier patriots like Afenifere Leader, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, Governor Wike, Chief Edwin Clark and uncountable unifier patriots who support power shift from North to South.

According to him: “My take is that Atiku is not a unifier and cannot defeat the Northern Governors’ Forum, Buhari, Obasanjo, Adebanjo, Clark and the sophisticated northern electorate by his mission to win by dividing the north and the south.

“It is an unforced error to think that he can manipulate our fault lines and the abundance of unifier patriots of the north. The Northern electorate is very sophisticated. They voted for Zik, Abiola and Obasanjo.

“Truly, take it or leave it, Governor Nyesom Wike’s main grouse is Atiku’s violent breach of PDP’s Constitution, manipulation of Governor Aminu Tambuwal and our fault lines.

“I bet that the wound of Machiavellian dosage Atiku infested the PDP is not likely going to heal before the 2023 presidential election.

“These unifier patriotic forces won’t allow him no matter his gusto to trample and rubbish the good works of patriots who sacrificed their presidential ambition and instituted the rotation convention in our political firmament.”

The same greedy & hypocritical Atiku that fought against Goodluck Jonathan & imposed this bad government on us.
The same foolish Atiku that dumped P.D.P in order to support buhari in A.P.C because he felt it was the turn of the north to rule.
The same thing the foolish & greedy Atiku called injustice during Goodluck Jonathans' tenure is what he's currently doing right now.
The foolish man knows it's the turn of the south to rule, yet he had the effontery to still contest.
Thank God for the boldness of Peter Obi who left P.D.P in order to give us a better option.
If not sensible Nigerians like us wouldn't have an option between voting sick & corrupt Tinubu, & greedy, tribalistic Atiku.

Atiku has made a big mistake running. His desperation to be President has totally blinded him from seeing he has accepted or bought a poisoned chalice.

Assuming he even wins, and unless he hits the ground running from day one to the satisfaction of everyone, especially Southerners , Atiku will face serious condemnation and disruptive people's protest daily because Nigerians, especially Southerners, will not take it easy with him or afford him time.

Buhari has divided Nigeria scarily. Most Southerners wanted a Southern President to replace Buhari and reverse his obviously pro-Fulani policies and leanings.

Especially security and the aspect of how Buhari appears openly, arrogantly and unapologetically obsessed with making it difficult for Southerners to protect themselves to obviously favour outdated pastoralism, vagrancy, outdoor/forest living and their Fulani practitioners.

It just seems our President is against the actualisation of a modern nation, in every facet of life, simply to favour how many of his people reject transitioning to modernity and civility.

If Atiku does anything to remotely remind Nigerians that issues are business as usual, as existed under Buhari, then he will precipitate the quick break-up of Nigeria with the North being the most unprepared and biggest losers of that development.

There will not be even 6 months patience for a failing President Atiku as Nigeria waited patiently for Buhari to complete his two terms because it is already in the back of the mind of many that Atiku is enjoying a 'slave master' Presidency the "arrogant and insensitive" North should never have contested for after two uninterrupted terms for Buhari as Okechuckwu insinuates.

Atiku Presidency, coming after the years of Buhari, is very controversial, contentious and dangerous for the reality of Nigeria today.

Most Northerners will note this and will work against him for that reason and for the fact they need 'one Nigeria' more than others and certainly more than those shown below who will make life hell for a Northern President already with the tag of arrogant and insensitive usurper to his name and image.

Nigeria is toxically divided. She is on a knife-edge and if not for the total insensitivity of born-to-rule Northerners, beginning with Atiku, no Northerner should be contesting the 2023 Prrsidency.

Herdsmen be your name ba? No wahala. Shebi PDP made the right decision going with a Northerner abi?

Let Atiku win and let him supervise even one major security disaster in the South involving Fulanis that will remind people they may be in for another 8 years of this after enduring 8 years of same under Buhari.

That is when people like you will understand how irresponsible, myopic and childish your thinking and reasoning ability is.
