Osun Governorship Election: Adeleke, PDP Record Another Victory As YPP Withdraws Petition At Tribunal
It was another gale of victory for the Governor-Elect of Osun State, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke as a petition filed by the Young Progressives Congress against his victory in the July 16 governorship election, YPP, has been withdrawn by the petitioner.

The withdrawal process started when counsels to the petitioner, formally announced before the election petition tribunal, discontinuation of their appearance in the case as instructed by the national office of the the YPP.

The discontinuation of appearance of the counsels was swifly followed by a formal letter of withdrawal of the petition by the State Chairman of YPP, Comrade Remi Ayanlade as filed by the party against the PDP victory.

The tribunal, after taking due diligence of the requests, struck out the petition in it's entirety as requested.

Reacting to the development, Osun State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr Akindele Adekunle, described the withdrawal of the petition as a welcome development, as all hands must be on deck by genuine stakeholders in the state for betterment of the people.

Dr Akindele said that any petition against the Governorship Election as conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission in the state would end ultimately in the waste bins of history, as the election was one of the most credible in recent memories.

The PDP Chairman therefore enjoined the people of the state to remain law abiding in their daily conduct as the state awaits the swearing-in of the the state Governor-Elect, Senator Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke.

Signed:
Dr Akindele Adekunle
Chairman, CTC
Peoples Democracy Party.

RE:Osun Governor-Elect Raises Alarm Over Criminal Diversion and Mopping up on Local Government Fund

In furtherance of my Press Release of 18/8/2022 cum directive of the Governor- Elect, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke on the need to put the entire public at alert most especially the good people of Osun State, that the attention of the Governor - Elect has been brought to the notice that the outgoing government is desperate to move all moveable most especially all the state funds before its expiration of tenure of office come 27th November 2022.
2. It’s against this backdrop, that the public needs to be sensitized on how public funds of this state are being siphoned by this present government through MDAs most especially Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Ministry of works, SUPEB, Local Government Service Commission (L.G.S.C). In fact, the Honorable Commissioner for Local Government together with ALGON with forum of Council Managers are the major culprits in this criminal act whereby the monthly Statutory Allocation due to Local Governments are being diverted on fictitious projects.
3. In addition, the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, ALGON and Council Managers usually come up with fictitious expenditure to siphon monthly allocations due to Local Governments with the likes of (ALGON, Critical needs, Political Leaders, House of Assembly, Obas, Spirituals and Hosts of others). All these criminal acts are regularly perpetrated at the detriment of welfare of the Staff, other Political officer holders and the entire Citizenry of Osun State, in which most Local Governments have found it most difficult to fulfill its monthly statutory obligations like payment of monthly imperest and claims of the staffers, Political office holders and execution of developmental projects for the entire community.
4. In the light of foregoing, I am directed to inform all the accounting officers of MDAs and Local Governments to start preparing their yearly financial records (income and expenditure) from January 2020 to date. This should be the format:
a.) 1st January 2020 – 30th June 2020
b.) 1st July 2020 – 31st December 2020
c.) 1st January 2021 – 30th June 2021
d.) 1st July 2021 – 31st December 2021
e.) 1st January 2022 – 31st March 2022
f.) 1st April 2022 – 30th June 2022
g.) 1st July 2022 – 27th November 2022
5. Furthermore, all the money spent on the relief package during the pandemic period of corona virus by all MDAs and Local Government most especially #18.33 million collected in year 2020 by Commissioner for Local Government and ALGON Chairman should be prepared in separate document. The Ministry of Local Governments in particular should also prepare how the monthly statutory allocation of the Local Governments are being disbursed on monthly basis most especially the one that are being regularly collected by ALGON directly from the source.
6. Kindly note that these above financial records will be submitted to appropriate quarters latest 5th December 2022.

Signed
Mallam Olawale Rasheed,
Spokesperson to the Governor -Elect
