MTN to Collaborate With Federal Government On The 70% Broadband Target by BrandSpurNG: 10:25pm On Aug 22, 2022
MTN Nigeria has emphasized the importance of collaboration between it and the Federal Government in order to achieve the National Broadband Plan’s target of 70% broadband internet penetration in urban and rural areas by 2025.
Onyinye Ikenna-Emeka, MTN’s General Manager for Fixed Broadband, told Arise TV that the Federal Government’s Broadband plan, which specified the kind of internet speeds expected for both urban and rural areas- 25mbps and 10mbps, respectively- could only be realized through effective collaboration between the private and public sectors.

MTN Group’s Strategic Ambition 2025, according to Ikenna-Emeka, is in line with the Federal Government’s broadband targets.

According to her, the technology provider’s intention is to provide the appropriate level of effective digital solutions to fuel Africa’s growth.

Ikenna-Emeka, an internet connectivity expert, believes that for Nigeria to achieve its goal of becoming a globally recognized digital economy, the Federal Government, public and private stakeholders will need to work together to increase broadband penetration.
