Doing research is an innovative and methodical way to add to the body of human understanding. Research Data analysis is the process of gathering, arranging, and analyzing research data to learn more about a subject of concern. It's not uncommon for new study to build upon an earlier studies. Research may include recreating parts of, or the entire, of an earlier project to verify the reliability of previously used tools, methods, or experiments. This constant update of new information into the body of knowledge on subject of concern, and how it was solved using research methods, has made research outcome a veritable tool for decision making either at organizational or managerial level.

Although there are some commonalities across the many definitions of research, there does not seem to be a universally accepted definition that is accepted by all researchers.

Research, in its simplest form, is an active pursuit of information and an examination of possible explanations of solution to a problem. The formal definition of research is the systematic study of a problem which is to be solved by a deliberately chosen strategy, which includes selecting an approach, preparing a blueprint (research design), acting on it by designing research hypotheses, selecting or developing methods and techniques, selecting or developing data collection tools, processing the data, interpreting the results, and finally presenting a solution or solutions.
