Coming into the new season, many have had little and or no serious achievements from Manchester United going by the caliber of players they have and most worryingly, their bad to worse performance since the departure of veteran Sir Alex Ferguson. As expected, the team has not started the new football season on a good note having lost her first two EPL games against average teams in Brighton and Brentford respectively and consequently, brought wide spread reactions as to the tactics of the coach, the commitment of the players and the seriousness of the board as well. With last season's top scorer C.R7 pushing for the exit door as the club wouldn't be appearing in this seasons's Uefa Champions League. A situation that as gone on side-by-side with the terrible performance of many other players like Maguire, Martial, Fred etc. In fact, little or no seriousness was expected from the team going into their clash against arch rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford on Monday night. Surprisingly enough, the coach kept his calm and showed his determination to fix things by benching Maguire and CR7 respectively. Maguire's omission was met with applause as that of CR7 had a mixed reaction. This decision paid off as the team played with so much passion and enough vigour which saw them carry the day. With the addition of Casemiro to a mildfield that already has a Bruno Fernandes and C.Eriksen, one can only but imagine the potential these three can attain. If CR7 stays injury free and remains disciplined, then Manchester United might as well have her best season since 2013.
