Ever since Buhari assumed to power, the government has been receiving such money from every angle of the earth every year, yet impact of the money was not felt.

SmartPolician:
Abacha is really an incredible thief who died in June 1998. Over 2 decades later, they are still bringing back his loots. All these loots are being discovered because late Gen Abacha kicked the bucket.

When are they going to return loots by living generals like Babaginda, Abdul Abubukar, Yakubu Gowon, etc.? Abi dem no loot? undecided

BTW, Buhari and his goons will share the money and say it was given to poor Nigerians. What APC cannot do doesn't exist.
Money they would have used to build a working refinery in the past but they looted it.
Those people on Nairaland that’s saying Nigeria can’t build a refinery, you see where Nigeria money been Dey go?

Goalnaldo:
Abacha might just be the richest man to ever lived on earth. His money is inexhaustible.

He is not even the richest criminal ever. That would be Pablo Escobar.

You guys lack a sense of scale. The loot recovered from Abacha so far is not up to a month sales for a company like Colgate Palmolive or Procter and Gamble.

All the money that has been returned so far is less than 2 billion (interest inclusive). It is because they are being returned in batches, that's why it seems like it is inexhaustible.

Abacha was estimated to have stolen 5-6 billion, with interest and with the fact that Bagudu, the Abacha family, the Chagouris etc all kept some of the money, there should be 3-4 billion to recover. This is a pittance when you compare with how much wealth is in the world.

Abacha made exhaustive use of Cook Islands trust which are notoriously difficult to break and recover. That's why it has taken several years and several batches to recover the loot.

GenBuhari:
Nigerians Abacha is innocent and refused their ruinous IMF and World Bank loans, whilst facing economic sanctions at a time oil sold as low as $12 per barrel this is why they assassinated him trying to paint him a looter.
The term Abacha Loot is a dishonest catchphrase meant to distract from the hundreds of billions of dollars since Abacha's poisoning 24 years ago. Making us to believe looting started and ended with Abacha angry
US puppet Thief Obasanjo who was installed by US covertly, is probably hiding the $16billion he collect to give us light in US banks but you will never hear of anybody going after the return of "Obasanjo Loot"

If you say Abacha is innocent, all those money being recovered were sent to US by who?

This Abacha is actually a legend that saves for the future of Nigerian but the current government should be held responsible for mismanagement...
He save while dollars were low and now the present government is catching out in multiple folds...
They should be held for transparency and accountability

Bro you have a funny way of thinking. Abacha a legend for stealing the money he should have invested in Nigeria.

If he has invested all these money in Nigeria then, by now Nigeria fit don turn dubai
