Over the years, Nigerian Tetiary Education system always face a lot of hindrances. of all hindrances, The Unending strike action by the academic staff union of universities seems to be the main complications which the nigerian university students has been facing.
it always spans from administration to administration and none of these successive administration has been able to solve the problem associated with the strike action.
the strike action causes a whole lot of damages to the system and causes more harm than good. one of them is the long span days of the strike which lasts between 60 and 270 days with the last strike action spanning nine straight months.
Now, what's the main cause of all the strike action. unpaid wages and mode of payment seems to be the main cause of dispute between The ASUU and the Federal Government. Series of meeting has been held consecutively. yet, an agreement had not be reached. these makes it one of the cancerous worms eating up the nigerian educational system and it's only a matter of time before it causes a huge damage to the educational system and to the country at large as education is the bedrock of every successful nation.
therefore, I beg the ASUU and the Federal Government to negotiate and find a lasting solution to the cancerous worm eating deep in the country's Tetiary Education system.
