So is Ghana landlocked. Is Benin Republic also landlocked. Has he finished linking the coastal areas of Nigeria to the main land? Why is he borrowing money to service other countries. This government really needs serious auditing, when this folly ends. Perhaps he should add Niger Republic to Northern Nigeria to form a federation. That will be great. 1 Like |

Doesn't it have roads linking it to Nigeria? When other west African countries build infrastructure they are paying their fair share, how much is Niger spending on the railway? 3 Likes

Oh please!!! Lets believe her that the sea to rail is their goal. What is happening to the construction of the ports in Southern Nigeria? Why is the ph-maiduguri(elephant project) falling drastically behind on project schedule (they have blamed China's inability to provide funding). This administration is not sincere in improving the lives of the SS and SE region economically. I see no reason why there is no track from ph to Enugu by now and also pushing the coastal rail construction down the bottom. The Yorubas have benefitted in that aspect because "they are loyal". If I go by this thinking, I would really be angry that Wike missed out on the ticket. But again, politics in Nigeria will always trump projects based on sound Engineering conceptualisation and economic viability. A shame!!! 1 Like |

Biodun556:So, all of a sudden those countries became landlocked. And Nigeria without a nationwide functional railway system has to singlehandedly do the railway lines farrr into these countries. If buhari cared so much about the African free trade, why did he lock up the commercially busiest and most crucial Nigerian borders only to start constructing railway lines in the economically less viable borders? You people are deceiving yourselves and not me. 4 Likes |

Difrent: Like what a reasonable guy pointed out, Nigeria is supposed to be implementing stringent border control measures in the north because Boko Haram, ISWAP and other terrorists (in form of herders and bandits) transverse between Nigeria and its northern borders to carry out their dastardly acts. This is how sane leaders think, not building railway to facilitate the movement of heartless terrorists who kill for joy. BTW, how much Niger Rep has that Nigeria wants them to bring USD to the country? You want to invest $1.8 billion in a project that will run into a very poor country while manufacturers in your country are crying that there isn't electricity to power their machines and many of them are moving to Ghana. To date, Nigeria is still struggling to generate 4000MW of power, but Buhari wants to borrow $1.8 billion to connect Kano to a dead West African country in the hopes of enhancing international trade. Why did God curse this country with clueless leaders and followers? 3 Likes |

AntiChristian: She is just trying to tell her story, different from the Public perceptions! Even in Nigeria, is it bad to have railway lines all over,e g - from Calabar to Lagos- especially in all the Coastal Areas in the South,as these area are in dire need! Or From Owerri to Ijebu- Ode too is not a bad idea! So why outside Nigeria is the question that Nigerians are yet to receive answerers! God bless Our Land! |
