The Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum has emerged 2022 'Best Governor Of The Year' in the forthcoming Leadership Excellence Awards.

Governor Zulum defeated three other nominees, Governor David Nweze Umahi of Ebonyi State, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, and Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State to emerge winner in a 14-day public voting by Nigerians via online platforms, monitored by the News Agency of Nigeria.

Governor Zulum polled 1,028,469 votes, while his closest rival, Umahi polled 707,245 votes, Wike 506,518 votes and Seyi Makinde came distant fourth with 249, 615 votes.

The Prestigious award, endorsed by the African Union, African Film Institute, will be presented in a grand ceremony organised by IgbereTV on 5th November, 2022 at the Congress Hall, Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja.

Elected in 2019, Prof. Zulum is described as a revolutionary governor, who has become one of Nigeria’s most accomplished leaders within a short period of time.

Despite the humongous resources being deployed by his administration to combat insecurity in the Boko Haram ravaged state, great developmental strides, unprecedented in the annals of the country, are being recorded in the state in all sectors.

The prestigious Igbere TV Awards recognises and honours the outstanding impacts of leaders across both the public and private sectors in Nigeria.

It promotes outstanding leaders and personalities whose impacts have been felt in Nigeria’s political, social and economic spheres.

The Award also applauds excellence, achievements, performance, humanitarian activities and philanthropic gestures.

The 2022 edition, the 4th in a row, is expected to be graced by former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, as well as key personalities in both the public and private sectors.

Well, with the cadre of people nominated with him, and with his outstanding performance, his choice is no brainer. Prof. Zulum is a presidential material. I wouldnt have minded ethno-religious sentiments if the right candidates, and youthful technocrats were on parade. Obi has no rival for now. But this is election. Nigerians are unpredictable. Money is still a very strong factor in our polity.

INEC SHOULD BE RELEASING THE FULL DETAILS OF ELECTIONS IMMEDIATELY AFTER EACH ELECTION.

Since Nigeria now operates the electronic transmission method, then, the INEC should be releasing all the full details of the Election Results, down to the Polling-Unit Results, Ward Results, and the LGA Results..
And they should transmit all the Accreditation details to the NATIONAL BUREAU OF STATISTICS for proper categorisation and demographic details of the election.

It is high-time we start demanding from INEC to be releasing and publishing the full details of the Election Results as they were transmitted electronically to “The Collation Support and Result Verification System” (CSRVS) on their website and/or Online Results Portal immediately the Outcome of the Elections are declared and final results called out.

Since we (the voters) are aware that the data contained inside the CSRVS are a highly secret information because they are there to be used in the process of the election, and because the results of the election are not yet declared publicly. So, we can patiently wait.

But immediately the Election-Results are publicly declared by the INEC, then it means that the INEC had run all their checks, and confirmed that the information contained inside the CSRVS are genuine figures, and that they had finished using those figures for the purpose of the elections, and thus, they have to publish the whole figures as contained in the CSRVS on the INEC’s website and/or Results Portal..

The most important question now becomes:
“Since the CSRVS is now functional and being actively used in the Elections,, why are they still using any form of MANUAL COLLATION again??”.

While I share your sentiments, I heard he increased it recently.
Nevertheless, Borno State is perhaps one of the cheapest places to live in now in Nigeria because it doesn't receive lots of visitors due to inherent fears some still have, so 8000 naira would still go a long way in Borno than in Lagos or even Kebbi for instance.
I agree however, that it should be increased to standard minimum wage of 30,000 naira.

8000 can't do anything for anyone monthly in Nigeria, either in borno or kebbi, most of these teachers are married..
A mudu of rice is 1100 both in borno and kebbi, the cheapest local rice mudu is 600, beans a mudu is 1k the cheapest beans is 750..

So trust me people are suffering.
