He mentioned that his government will give way to alternative funding for tertiary institutions, this would increase funds availability to these institutions and reduce government involvement, especially in funding. Thereby reducing excessive government influence and giving way to higher institutions partnerships with private organizations and industries.

He didn't built nothing... Lagos is still backward when compare to its potential to be greater than she is now.

Lagos has all the ingredients to be greater and developed than she is now...So, don't over hype it.

This is laudable. Other states should emulate. Universities have like 2 sets now waiting for year one and jamb no send sef.
For me, I think that the only solution for quality education in Nigeria is for all politicians and public office holders to enroll their children in public schools in Nigeria. This has to be made legal. Any politician that will not enroll their children in Nigerian schools should not contest for a public position. Then we will all see how quality education will be revived in Nigeria.

secondly, Lagos is already thinking of ways to avert a future strike by looking for a sustainable financing model,

watch out, if this work out other state government and even federal government will copy this idea

Simple observation has shown that we need few theorist/researcher but need many who can put those theories/research to product and productivity. Those at those productivity stage can then self-finance themselves or research institutions to help address problems reoccurring around their practice or improve existing theories.

Lagos na talk and do oh. This is not Abia or Enugu we are talking about. Lagos leads in several developmental indexes. Many states and the FG are coping Lagos initiatives. Last month they introduced body camera for LASMA and the first electric powered intra-city rail system will open in Lagos this year. Don't get it twisted.

In about 10 years time when Lagos start reaping the gains of this forward thinking initiative, people like you will be shouting why can't government do same thing in other states.
