Buhari has authorized an increase in the duty tour allowance for government officials, ministers, and others.

President Muhammadu Buhari has authorized a rise in duty tour allowances (DTAs) for government officers and workers.

Ministers, permanent secretaries, and civil workers on grade levels 1 to 17 will profit.

DTA is the money provided to ministerial appointees and graded personnel when they go on an official trip.

The presidential consent was communicated by Ekpo Nta, the head of the National Salaries, Income, and Wages Commission.


According to the circular notifying the approval, it went into effect on September 1.

The breakdown is as follows: GL 01-04 and its equivalent N10,000 per diem; GL 05-06 and its equal N15,000; and GL 07-10 and its equivalent N17,500.

N20,000 for GL 12-13; N25,000 for GL 14-15; and N37,500 for GL 16-17.

Permanent secretaries and their equivalents are paid N70,000 per diem; Ministers, SGFs, and HCSFs are paid N80,000 per diem.
