After all the Conservative party was supposed to be the racist party, and the misogyny party. Yet they have had two female prime minister's, the chair of the party has at one time been black and they have an Indian guy in the final of the leadership selection. And a black candidate that had a good run in said selection.

45 years ago, that would have been impossible.

Me thinks that racism is deeply ingrained in them to be that accepting of a Black person...

On the other hand, the Conservatives have come a long way, to have black elected officials. Five decades ago, that would have been considered a joke, or impossible, or something Labour would do (and even then).

UK is racist. But they have made advances in a way. The other day, in a poll, 50% of brits said they won't mind a black person as their neighbour. (That number dropped to 20% in certain Eastern European countries...)

No directly set terms in the position, but Prime Minister must maintain the support of the House of Commons, for the fact that UK using unwritten constitution it enhance using of popularity of Prime Minister to determine how long to stay in power.

That's why changing of presidents or prime minister in other European countries that had written constitution is not frequent like that of UK.

I love the way the UK Prime Minister is announced without very expensive campaigns and elections.
