NDE-FCT Flags off Post-SADTs , Small Stock Goat Production Training

The National Directorate of Employment( NDE-FCT) has flagged off post - sustainable agricultural development training scheme, Post-SADTs and Small stock goat production training as part of its strategic resettlement scheme to reduce the rate of unemployment and cushion the impacts of poverty in the country.

The Director General of the NDE Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo represented by Mrs Harris Okolie said the resettlement scheme will not only cushion the impacts of poverty in the land but is also capable of transforming the lives of the participants if they are diligent and serious minded, and charged participants to be serious with the training so as to grab this life transforming skills to better their lives.

Also speaking, the state coordinator, NDE-FCT, Mr. Noble Chimereze charged participants not to jeopardize the opportunity or take the training for granted, adding that millions of Nigerians are looking for such opportunity to better their lives.

Earlier, the head of department, REP of the NDE- FCT Mr. Chukwuma Jinawa said the training was a resettlement based training targeted at training and empowering men and women who will in turn train others to become economically independent through agro based business opportunities.

According to him, 50 participants are to be trained on small stock goat production using the revolving model empowerment and upon successful completion of the training, N150,000 will be given to each of the participants as start up pack. While another 50 will be trained under the Post- sustainable agricultural development training scheme, and will be empowered with N100,000 each as start up pack at the end of the training,

Adding that aside the startup packs all participants will be supported with N2,000 each for their transportation on monthly basis as the training last.

Jinawa advised the participants to maintain diligence while the training lasts, adding that the directorate would provide support mainly to serious trainees after the completion of their training.

In her remark, Comfort Olubodu, one of the participants, appreciated the federal government for its show of concern to the plight of youths. She assured that the training would go a long way in cushioning the hardship in the society.
