“This New Nation called Nigeria, should be an estate of our great grandfather, Uthman Dan Fodio. We must ruthlessly prevent a change of power. We use the minorities in the North as willing tools, and the South, as conquered territory and never allow them to rule over us, and never allow them to have control over their future.” , Sardauna of Sokoto in THE PARROT of October 12, 1960

It is time for the "willing tools" to become unwilling and the "conquered" to defied the "conqorour".
Let us have a National conference now. I am scared of the legacy I will leave for my children. Will I leave for them a country where they are referred to as "conquered" or a country where they are respected as citizens. Those who refuse for a National Dialogue are asking for disintegration. Now is our opportunity, but the time is moveing fast.

A national dialogue is fine but to unearth a dead qoute to wip up tribal sentiments isn't needful.
Nigeria has moved on.

Nigeria has definitely not moved on and is CLEARLY not moving at all. While Nigeria is better off as one, with the present circumstances, it better be broken so that the north with the mindset of "Nigeria as their estate" can have their own land and leave other people's land alone. If Nigeria had a separate country in the south, it would be one of the most prosperous and advanced economies with good leaders and managers. Divide it into regions with a weak center and let the states therein compete. It wouldn't be long before the northern Nigeria and people from other countries begin to come and apply for residence permit and citizenship.
