Imo govt reacts to IPOB threat ahead of Buhari’s visit

The Imo State Government said nobody can threaten President Muhammadu Buhari

The state government is reacting to the threat issued by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ahead of the visit of Buhari to the state on Tuesday.

Speaking at a press conference in Owerri on Saturday, Declan Emelumba, the State’s Commissioner for Information and Strategy, said that IPOB couldn’t threaten Buhari.

IPOB had earlier declared a sit-at-home in Imo and other south east states for Tuesday.

IPOB tagged the sit-at-home a day of civil action across the Southeast.

The group declared the order ahead of the Appeal Court hearing of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, and Buhari’s planned visit to the Southeast.

Emelumba, however, dismissed the declaration, stating that security operatives were ready for the president’s visit to Imo.

"Nobody can threaten Buhari. He’s president and commander in chief of the federal republic of Nigeria. Imo is one of the states he governs, and he is free to visit it. Security is in top gear, and I can assure you that his visit will be successful," Emelumba said.

Buhari is expected to inaugurate three signature projects built by governor Hope Uzodinma administration on Tuesday.

Ipob pigs can only hide to attack unsuspecting security personnel or armless citizens.

But the thought of attacking the president is the least they can ever think of because that is just a suicide mission.

Infact, even the presence of security personnel a day to the landing of the president will make them run further into the bush, or leave the state completely until the president is back to Abuja. grin

You want the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria succumb and postpone a State working visit just because some miscreants said he should do that
DO you know the implications of that if he do that?

No matter what, the president should never postpone his planned visit to Imo state. They should just kill him for us ifthey can so that we will elect a new president asap.
