The presidential ambition of former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has received boost following the defection of Prince Uthman Shodipe from Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) to ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The elder statesman, Prince Shodipe is a strong ally and second-in-command to PDP leader, Chief Bode George.

In his resignation statement, Prince Shodipe said he served PDP for more than 17 years meritoriously without aspiring for any position or influence to get favour.

Prince Shodipe said he spent millions of his personal fortunes to enhance and strengthen the Lagos State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

No doubt, his defection will have an positive and negative impact on Lagos State chapter of PDP as new leader emerge to fill his vacant position.


While meeting Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu formally, Prince Shodipe assured the APC and presidential candidate of his total support.
