The people of Remo in Ogun State are thankful to Real Madrid star, David Olatokunbo Alaba for giving back to his community by providing toilets for them.

David Olatokunbo Alaba who was born to parents of Nigerian descent in Vienna, Austria, made a donation of toilet to the people of Remo in Ogun state, Nigeria.

The 30-year-old Austrian professional footballer who plays for La Liga giants Real Madrid has always identified with his roots, Nigeria on several occasions.

In a commitment to give back to Nigeria, Alaba through his foundation invested a reported 13.3 million naira to build an ultra-modern Biodegradable Toilet Facility.

The toilet facility was commissioned on Saturday, September 17 at Kara Market, Ogere Remo, Ogun State.

The toilet initiative by Alaba is to support President Muahhamdu Buhari’s administration’s move to end open defecation.

Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission Abike Dabiri-Erewa gave details of Alaba’s investment in toilets in Remo, Ogun State where his parents hail from.

In a statement on her official social media platforms, she said, “A big thanks for the facility donated by the David Alaba Foundation at Kara Market, Ogere Remo, Ogun State to support FGNs move to end open defecation. David is also planning a football training center in Nigeria.”

Expensive sh1t . Congrats to the users of the "bio-degradable toilet" but the sh1t in toilets owned by other Nigerians, are they not "biodegradable" . Commendable but they should stop using big words to overhype and complicate issues.

I remembered when Bayern won the Champions League back then where he had his Austrian and Nigerian flags around his waist that year.

Thank God for him, hope they will maintain it, cause naija can't maintain public things.

What a good gesture, he could have put such resources into human development like education and training of younger fellows that will bring about productivities. Just my opinion and it didn't change anything, he's at liberty to channel his resources to where ever he prefer.

He's the one who knew why he chose to build toilet among other things that will benefit humanity. His effort is commendable.
