The thought just occurred to me unless I am not well informed. I thought there is Google map that can be used to show places in real time. So, why can't it be used to trace criminals hideouts in the forests. At least forests in the North are not as dense as those in the south.

Can someone please educate me. I am willing to learn.

It won't happen when the terrorists are busy watching DSTV in DSS cells

There is nothing as such, Google map uses pre-captured data or images, they are not real time, it would even be impossible for satellite to do so as it takes weeks to arrange the data.

You'll be shocked that some Google map images are captured by airplane or drones (you can even contribute images), I hope it is clear now.

There are other means of tracking...

The bandits or kidnappers do call the family members, 30secs is enough to know the location with adequate software.

Why don't Nigerians in diaspora protest against this evil. They are too quiet for my liking. If they think what is happening in Nigeria doesn't concern them because of the comfort they are enjoying abroad, they may not have a country to return to if these wicked people succeed in their plans.

You clearly have identified a deviant and social ill behaviour problem, so why not take this further as a crusade, to bring awareness to using Global Positioning System technology (i.e. GPS), similar to GPS tracking system installed on cars.

The death they are afraid to die will still catch up with them sooner or later. An average Nigeria is a coward. If we were South Africa that was oppressed with apartheid regime, we would never have been free.
