No course is greater than others. People only have preference for some courses. All courses are equal. There is no logical parameter that a course is superior, though the durations of studying courses differ. Also, no department guarantees its students wealth or employment after graduation. There are successful graduates in all departments and there are others struggling to make ends meet. Being successful demands hard work and intellectual acuity to make the transition of knowledge to wealth. So, you can study any course that you have passion for.

However, there are professional courses and nonprofessional courses.

Many of our parents want us to become doctors, lawyers, engineers, lawyers etc. But some of us don’t want what our parents want. We desire to study Music, Theater Arts, English etc. Both of us —- parents and children —– are right. Nonetheless, we need to know the reasons why our parents want us to study some courses.

A professional discipline is a discipline that a person who is not in the field cannot practise. So, it is for the people who study it as a course. Conversely, nonprofessional disciplines are meant for anyone that is interested in them.

For instance, it isn’t necessary for someone to study English before s/he becomes a writer, nor is it necessary for someone to study Mass Communication before becoming a journalist. This means that people don’t just dabble in professional disciplines.

Another advantage of studying professional courses is that it gives the opportunity to secure lucrative jobs. Notwithstanding, studying a course doesn’t ascertain your success. What secures someone’s future is the much value s/he creates for people. There are people who studied nonprofessional courses doing better than their counterparts and vice versa. Professional courses take 5 to 6 years.
