2023: Soludo not working for Uche Ekwunife, says Obigwe

A group, under the aegis of All Progressives Grand Alliance ( APGA), has debunked insinuations in some quarters that the Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, is working to return his 'sister', Uche Ekwunife of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to the senate in the 2023 polls against APGA's candidate in the election, Dozie Nwankwo.

The National Coordinator of APGA Media Warriors' Forum, Chinedu Obigwe, who dispelled the story, described it as day-dreaming for Ekwunife and her loyalists to be peddling such rumour, stating that Soludo as a faithful APGA chieftain would never think such for any reason, whatsoever.

Ekwunife who is vying for the senate for Anambra Central Senatorial District is from Igbokwu, a stone's throw from Soludo's Isuofia hometown in the Aguata Local Government Area of the state, but married to Nri, in Anaocha LGA in Anambra Central Senatorial District.

But in a statement on Wednesday, Obigwe said such consanguinity and affinity would not make Soludo to support Ekwunife against Dozie Nwankwo of APGA.

Obigwe said, "The claim in some quarters that Governor Soludo is working for the success of Senator Uche Ekwunife is a lie from the pit of hell.

"Senator Uche Ekwunife should know that her time is up at the Senate. She should get ready to say goodbye to the Senate because Hon Dozie Nwankwo will defeat her in the forthcoming general election.

"Governor Soludo is not working for the success of Senator Uche Ekwunife in the forthcoming general election because he is a committed party man that will do everything humanly possible for APGA candidates to emerge victorious in the forthcoming general election.

"The general public should disregard the claim that Governor Soludo is working for Senator Uche Ekwunife to defeat Hon Dozie Nwankwo in the February 2023 general election.

"It's a well known fact in public domain that Senator Uche Ekwunife worked against Governor Soludo in the last November 6th governorship election and she delivered her two wards in Agukwu nri to PDP.

"It's not possible for Governor Soludo to work for her to defeat Hon Dozie Nwankwo that coordinated his ( Soludo's) campaign in Anambra Central Senatorial zone and delivered the zone to APGA in the last governorship election.

"The claim that Governor Soludo is working for Ekwunife is a cock and bull story that lacks an iota of truth and should be disregarded by the general public."
