No fewer than 100 teachers drawn from both public and private schools in Ede North/EdeSouth/Egbedore/Ejigbo federal constituency have been presented with Ipad, instructional materials and N20,000 each from the lawmaker representing the constiturncy, Hon. Bamidele Salam, in commemoration of the 2022 Teachers’ Day, AMILOADED reports.

The teachers were also trained on how to use the gadget to aid their teaching skills and to boost their morale.

Speaking on the development, the CEO of Nurture Consulting Firm, Ayopeju Njideaka, said there “is a lot of noise about the quality of learners they produce and there is need to review the teaching techniques to enable the learners to compete with others globally.


“Our first session focuses on understanding the learner, looking at it from the generational angle, what is their characteristics. Also, we went into 21st century skills. We know that the world is changing fast. So as teachers, we must be ready to have understanding of all these. And these are what we are exposing them to,” he said.

The Director-General of the National Teacher’s Institute (NTI), Musa Garba Maitafsir, said what the lawmaker is doing is unprecedented as he encouraged the teachers to make use of the gadget given to them.

Represented at the event by Mr Bashir Aliyu, the Director-General said,“The training will have a great positive impact on the learning outcome in our respective Schools system. As you all aware that we are now in 21st century and post covid era where ICT is playing a very vital role in every aspect of our lives. No doubt, the training will improve the digital skills of the teachers.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Monsurat Hussein, said the program is a welcome development.

She however thanked the facilitator for providing them with the gadget to ease their teaching skills, saying, “With what I have learnt today I can now bring new innovation to my students in order to help our learners to achieve his or her aims and objectives.”
