Peter obi said he will remove forex and import restrictions.

Seems like peter obi wants to destroy Nigeria's local economy.

He wants to make us dependent on only import.

How then are we going to get forex if we only import goods not produce anything.

This man will kill Nigeria and then make it a dumping ground for imports, that also means high unemployment rate

You have the IQ of a monkey

I thought I was the only one to observe that from his statement. The vast majority of importers in Nigeria are Ibos like him who produce nothing locally but use Nigeria as a dumping ground for substandard Chinese goods to the detriment of our local economy. He's probably echoing the thoughts of his western neo-liberal masters who granted him audience in America yesterday. A vote for Peter Obi is a vote for economic enslavement. I remain DISOBIDIENT.
Even Innocent Chukwuma would hate Peter Obi now.

Peter Obi and his wacky ideas. First, it was his contractionary monetary policy. Now, this. Peter Obi is dangerously clueless. He will sink our fledgling production base and thow us to the sharks.
How can you promise a production based economy and throw throw our borders open to all sorts of cheap imports particularly from Asia.

No country in the universe which does not import. The problem is when your rate of importation as a nation is way higher than your export. Peter Obi is spot on
Yes but all nations on earth have import restrictions to protect their local economy. Obi wants to remove those restrictions to favor eastern businessmen who are the backbone of his economic agenda to the detriment of our local economy. It's unprecedented in our recent history and we cannot let this happen

You obviously do not understand the advantage of a free market economy but if you want to know, we can discuss

You are talking rubbish Japan, South Korea and China fiercely protected their industries in the early stages of their development. You cannot throw a country like Nigeria open and hope to win, not even against a country like South Africa, not to mention China and other Asian countries.

So the way to increase our export is to remove import restrictions ?

Nigeria has had one of the most closed economics in the world. How has our industries grown.
I am sure you don't know that Africa has the most import restrictive economies yet we have no industries.
All the countries you mentioned have free trade agreements with many other countries.
You can Google it.
The definition of insanity is repeating the same wrong thing over and over again.
Restrictive economies have failed Nigeria, why don't we try a free market economy?

Go to ogun state and other industrial areas in Nigeria, you will see the manufacturing industries we have.

Obi wants to totally kill them, not only that, he wants to also kill our agricultural system if he remove restrictions on import.

We are in for trouble. Obi shouldn't be voted into power.

Oga shut up abeg

says who?? A country can never produce everything it needs, more reason there is what we call comparative advantages...

Smuggling is as a result of corruption, that alone is another aspect to deal with entirely, because you have to bribe someone to smuggle products through the land borders...
yes a country can not produce everything it need but as long production is bigger than importation. it help the currency and economy. Nigeria as it is right now is not really a production country. so removing limitations on import will kill the production pata pata....stop being sentimental....even a day old baby knows the truth....be honest am I wrong

Lack of education is a disease! You want to be like Dubai… do they have import restrictions in Dubai? What a smart government do is to impose higher tax on products manufactured by the country! That is what Peter Obi is proposing!
