At least you know where the money is going into |
Re: Religious Bodies Spend N2bn On Advert In 2010 by Joagbaje(m): 7:40am On Aug 17, 2011 |
Azibalua: very funny. my own concern is how people will just come out with some dumb statistic. how did they know the budget of a church with regards to publicity. its mere malicious assumption. |
Re: Religious Bodies Spend N2bn On Advert In 2010 by PastorKun(m): 7:41am On Aug 17, 2011 |
^^^ Yes the money is going towards the advertisement of their individual brands with the aim of growing their individual churches and making more revenue from increased members just like any other business the annoying is that most of them claim they are using the money to spread the gospel yet the gospel of christ is not evident in their so called churches. |
Re: Religious Bodies Spend N2bn On Advert In 2010 by Zikkyy(m): 8:28am On Aug 17, 2011 |
Joagbaje: They don't need your budget. They worked with actual spending. What you paid to media. |
Re: Religious Bodies Spend N2bn On Advert In 2010 by Zikkyy(m): 8:34am On Aug 17, 2011 |
Azibalua: we know why the gospel is 'unnecessarily' expensive. |
Re: Religious Bodies Spend N2bn On Advert In 2010 by Nobody: 11:32am On Aug 17, 2011 |

As one of those that are closer to the church admin, i know how much that comes in and i know whats left after paying MITV and OGTV close to |

Zikkyy:It's is very expensive, but it's not a problem the more expensive it is the bigger the church gets |
Re: Religious Bodies Spend N2bn On Advert In 2010 by Zikkyy(m): 2:11pm On Aug 17, 2011 |
toba: It's business. They are in it for profit. Is your church in business for profit? toba: It's obvious your marketing strategy is not working. If the advert cost exceed church revenue, why continue? you end up putting unnecessary pressure on current members to meet up. |
Re: Religious Bodies Spend N2bn On Advert In 2010 by Nobody: 2:22pm On Aug 17, 2011 |
Zikkyy:How im i supposed to know that? im not a full time pastor. Have u seen a church like business before? |
Re: Religious Bodies Spend N2bn On Advert In 2010 by Claus(m): 2:25pm On Aug 17, 2011 |
N2bn is not 14% N98bn. The total from all the categories listed was N13.4bn, and N2bn is approx 15% of this. |
Re: Religious Bodies Spend N2bn On Advert In 2010 by Enigma(m): 2:54pm On Aug 17, 2011 |
God did not send anybody to It is much better that a "church" (a) teaches its own members godliness (rather than all this rubbish "prosperity" and, (b) teach its members each to influence other people they come across with their own Godly behaviour and carriage; in other words each member is to preach the gospel, particularly by actions (including charity) and by words if necessary. |
Re: Religious Bodies Spend N2bn On Advert In 2010 by mabell: 2:58pm On Aug 17, 2011 |
Zikkyy: The church continues because it is not a money making venture or organisation but its sole purpose is soul winning so no matter the expenses made, the church will not suffer |
Re: Religious Bodies Spend N2bn On Advert In 2010 by mabell: 3:06pm On Aug 17, 2011 |
Enigma: actually God sent us to preach to everybdy so we use all the mediums available 15 And he said to them, Go into all the world, and give the good news to everyone. mark 16:15 |
Re: Religious Bodies Spend N2bn On Advert In 2010 by Claus(m): 3:16pm On Aug 17, 2011 |
Joagbaje: The statistics aren't actually dumb. It's really just a breakdown of advertising spending by sector. It does not make any comment about the budget of any church, and it's unlikely that its intent was malicious since it was looking at all sectors. However, that doesn't mean that people won't take extracts from the statistics and use them in whatever way they want. |

SMDH. When he said go into the world and preach the gospel, was he regimenting us to restricted means? In addition, thousands if not millions that saw the messages on OGTV and MITV throughout west african could have given their lives to christ and got breakthrough. |
Re: Religious Bodies Spend N2bn On Advert In 2010 by Zikkyy(m): 4:08pm On Aug 17, 2011 |
toba: You should know. You were close enough to know the weekly expenditure and revenue toba: You complained bout the high cost of advert (charges by media houses). why spend that much on brand awareness (advert), competing with coca cola and Zenith bank (for attention)? |

what's your point @ poster. |
Re: Religious Bodies Spend N2bn On Advert In 2010 by Zikkyy(m): 4:15pm On Aug 17, 2011 |
Azibalua: the bigger the problems resulting in pastor calling for more cash mabell: . . . . .but the congregation can suffer |
Re: Religious Bodies Spend N2bn On Advert In 2010 by JeSoul(f): 4:24pm On Aug 17, 2011 |
Enigma:In-law, what kind of strategy is this now? How is the 'church' supposed to make money and sustain itself by teaching only 'holiness' and 'godliness'? Na 'godliness' pastor go chop? go use fuel private jet for the spreading of the gospel? na 'holiness' go supply air time on OGTV? all these spiritually antique words & concepts that you're flinging around that are out-of-date with the modern swankified church . . . abeg mind yaself oh. |
Re: Religious Bodies Spend N2bn On Advert In 2010 by Zikkyy(m): 4:25pm On Aug 17, 2011 |
toba: What wrong with you adopting a means that yield the most returns? You don't have to adopt a particular approach because some other churches are already doing that. toba: Did you ever consider the possibility that a larger percentage of your target audience already given their life to Christ? |
Re: Religious Bodies Spend N2bn On Advert In 2010 by tpia5: 4:27pm On Aug 17, 2011 |
you're just zigzagging all over the place with no clear point. |
Re: Religious Bodies Spend N2bn On Advert In 2010 by Nobody: 4:32pm On Aug 17, 2011 |
Zikkyy:Smdh at this response. because i said im close to the church admin means i should know church is a business venture? SMDH at this ur very poor logic. Im not aware of any church being a business. can u please provide verifiable example or evidence that church is indeed a business? Zikkyy:Smdh once again at you. Who told u that the church is advertising like coke, Pepsi etc and not actually propagating the gospel on Tv? so all the media publications by preaching and reaching out to pple are adverts that can be compared to what other nonreligious brand put up on Air? |
Re: Religious Bodies Spend N2bn On Advert In 2010 by Nobody: 4:43pm On Aug 17, 2011 |
now i know tpia is very correct in the exact way she described u as being zigzagging Are u asking me such a rhetorical question? My response to Enigma was based on his submission. U never fully understood the premise of my post before quoting same. I will ask u were we told in the bible the specific approach to adopt in trying to convey the message of the gospel? were We also restricted to a particular sect or to the entire world? Why should i? were We told in the bible that even christians can bacslide at certain points in their lives? were We told to stop preaching at a certain point on the assumption premise 'that a larger percentage of your target audience already given their life to Christ?' Smdh |

Re: Religious Bodies Spend N2bn On Advert In 2010 by Zikkyy(m): 5:04pm On Aug 17, 2011 |
toba: That's Okay. If you insist you don't know bout your church being a business. toba: You mean you don't know No wonder you guys were chasing N200,000 with N500,000 |
Re: Religious Bodies Spend N2bn On Advert In 2010 by Zikkyy(m): 5:24pm On Aug 17, 2011 |
toba: You guessed right toba: you think so? toba: believing there are 'no restrictions' is not a license for wasteful spending. why over-burden the members with avoidable cost. toba: even if some other pastor is already serving this purpose? |
Re: Religious Bodies Spend N2bn On Advert In 2010 by Nobody: 5:32pm On Aug 17, 2011 |
I still await u to give me verifiable evidence of how a church is now a business
Smdh is that all u could deduse from my post? kindly go review it to decode the uncoded message i was passing. Is there anything that suggests we were chasing N200,000 with N500,000? |
