Tinubu struggles to recall fictional memories of Nigeria’s independence in Lagos
Mr Tinubu had earlier claimed to have attended St. Paul Children’s Home School, Ibadan, between 1958 to 1964.

Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has again contradicted himself over claims regarding his primary and secondary schools education.

Recalling Nigeria’s 1960 independence day celebration, Mr Tinubu claimed that he spent the day staging a ‘march-past’ with other pupils at the Tafawa Balewa Square.

“I could only recall that they gave us white tennis and shirts to march…celebrating independence. That is all I could recall and after an exhausted wait to march, I went home (sic) to eat eba and enjoy myself,” Mr Tinubu said in a new video.

Mr Tinubu’s submission appears to contradict his previous election claims and also earlier claims that he attended St. Paul Children’s Home School, Ibadan, between 1958 to 1964 and secondary education at Government

College, Ibadan, between 1965 to 1968.

The APC presidential candidate had told the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that he did not attend primary and secondary schools.

He disclosed this in an affidavit submitted to the electoral body as part of pre-conditions for his eligibility for the 2023 presidential elections.

The documents released to the public showed that Mr Tinubu left the columns for his primary and secondary education unmarked.

However, the APC presidential candidate said he obtained a degree in business and administration in 1979, apparently referring to his previous claims of attending the Chicago State University.

Mr Tinubu had said he attended Richard Daley College, Chicago, from 1969 to 1971.

A spokesman for Mr Tinubu did not return a request seeking comments over the discrepancies in the APC presidential candidate’s educational background.

The number of people that will vote for Tinubu will determine the number of sick people we have in Nigeria.
