WARNING

I'm a perfectionist. I always try to do things right but this will be the first thing I will be doing wrong.

This is going to be a draft filled with errors and blunders.

It may never be completed and it most certainly won't make sense.

You have been warned.

Chapter one

Once upon a time, there lived a family unlike any that ever was. They were not related by blood, neither were they related by marriage. The only thing they had in common was the roof over their head. Yet they lived so happily even more than siblings and lovers. The Secret of their happiness was unknown to the other real families and for years it was the most sought after secret in the land.

Many years passed and civilization took it course. New families were born and old ones crumbled but this strange family remained. Then one day a young man from the big city came to town. He was on a mission to find out the secret of this family for he was a reporter and he wished to run a story on the perfect family. He wasn't the first with such intention and he most certainly won't be the last unless of course he learns their secret.

John Kent as he was called set out on a Friday into one of the last remaining small towns in the state with the same determination he always had with him. His father had said with such determination he could become anything he wanted and at the young age of three, John had chosen to be a reporter. Nobody really knew why he chose that but they knew unlike other kids, he would not change his mind, not even once. John has always wanted answers and would often go to great length to discover the cause of an action or event. Despite this, there was one question he could never answer, why his mother left a day after his 3rd birthday.

As he got closer to the town and the cool breeze from outside brushed over his right arm hanging out the window of the bus, he was taken aback to his childhood days. He remembered how his father would take him on every outing and trip. He was mostly out of school because of these frequent trips but he believed that he learnt more when he was away on such trips. His favourite part of these trips was feeling the wind as his father drives. As a kid, he never really understood what his father's job was, just that he had to be on the road most of the time going from one town to the next and only staying for a day or two before heading back home.

The town reminded him so much of home and for a first time in a long while, he found himself missing his mother. He could barely remember what she was like except that she played the piano. One tune had stuck with him for years, the one she played a day before she disappeared from the face of the earth. He had convinced himself a long time ago that she vanished but still he longed to know what really happened. The search for Angie Kent had lasted for years and involved almost the entire country but it ended a long time ago for everyone except for John.
