Barrister Ejiofor, Lawyer to IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, has taken to his Facebook to relay a live video press conference and to explain the court of appeal decision that discharged his client yesterday

Ejiofor explained that the court of appeal held that by going to Kenya to bring back Nnamdi Kanu, without subjecting him to due extradition process, the federal government not only violated Kanu's fundamental human rights, but also violated extant laws such as -

. Section 15 of the Nigerian extradition act

.Article 12, sub-section 4 of the African Charter on people and human rights

. Criminal enforcement act, CAP M24, Laws of the Federation Of Nigeria

Ejiofor went on to say that by breaking these laws to bring Kanu back to Nigeria, the court of appeal held that no lower court had any jurisdiction to try Nnamdi Kanu because the Federal government must come to court with clean hands. The courts then struck off the remaining counts against Kanu and discharged him

Ejiofor also said he was waiting for a copy of the courts judgment so he can go to DSS office to effect Kanu's release

When asked what he would do if the Federal government heads to the supreme court, Ejiofor said he is not bothered about that but that Kanu should be released while that is happening because every day he is held in detention while a court judgment ordering his release is valid, will only increase the problem of the Federal government

Ejiofor also thanked the legal team, particularly Mike Ozehkome and Alloy Ejimakor, for coming together to make this victory possible.
