Funny thing is Iran and Azeri don’t agree on everything in fact they are enemies yet both nations are Shia while Azeri closest ally in that region is Israel and Iran closest ally is Armenia which have the oldest Christianity.
Bahrain is massive Shia but the ruling family are Sunni.

Shia Persians and Sunni arabs. Persia now iran used to be a great power. Iran and persia can't be united against USA allies. All US enemies have internal wrangling among themselves. What unites them is hatred for USA. China v Russia. Iran v Saudi. US and allies have common interests. Even UK and other us allies have to surrender to USA hegemony to forge ahead. None of US enemies can surrender to other as an hegemony.
World politics is more complicated.

Even in Nigeria, despite both sect being imported, they can't stand each other. They are always being persecuted by the Ruling Sunni sect, but it's okay to have wild dreams about them uniting.
