It is, but there are mechanisms to deal with flooding.

Like in Lagos, it has been said for years that lagos needs improved drainage systems. Nothing has been done about that.

Also, Anambra state could benefit from dykes, barriers, canals, etc to mitigate the effect of the flooding.

A nice flood barrier across the River Benue would have helped a lot ....

Naturally, it won;t stop floods completely, but it would reduce the effect.

Flood is a natural disasters, just like earthquake and tsunami. Whether you develop your place or not it doe not stop those natural occurrence. Go and stop

Oddly enough, I live in the FCT...and yes, we do have some bad floods...even last year....

And yes, my comment still stands. Governments, irrespective of party, have done nothing about flood mitigation efforts....

Like building flood barriers and dykes, and not letting anyone build anything in flood plains. (seen in Kogi and a few years ago in Kaduna town)

And a big barrier up the River Benue...a flood barrier.

APC better sit up, if they want votes next year.
