Rewind about 6 months ago down to 2019, there's roughly no week that nairaland doesn't report news of mass Herdsmen murders, highway kidnappings, they even used to issue warnings before they attack. They even began infiltrating the South with the most recent mass attack being the Owo massacre in June where worshippers were brutally murdered in cold blood. What changed? Have the raiding herdsmen suddenly embraced peace or does this have something to do with the coming elections? Is it a ploy to get Nigerians to forget certain things and vote towards certain lines so that when the elections are done they can continue where they left off and we'll all start regretting? Doubt there's been a drastically reduction. I'm sure the news cycle is just focused on other topics whether it be bandits or the election. Fact is nobody is really tracking the crime rate.
