2023: Our Task Is To Deliver Osun For Atiku, Says Adeleke

The Osun State Governor-elect, Sen. Ademola Adeleke has disclosed that the People of Osun who voted for him massively during the gubernatorial election will vote for Atiku Abubakar in the forthcoming presidential election slated for February 2023.

Adeleke, during the inauguration of the Presidential Campaign Council in the State said Nigerians have rejected the APC.

Appreciating Osun residents for the show of love and solidarity during the guber contest, Adeleke said it is not over yet because for him to be able to achieve all what he promised, the next Nigeria’s President must come from PDP.

He noted, “As your Governor in Osun state, I need a President of our party at the federal level to support me as I deliver our five point agenda to the good people of Osun State. An Atiku Presidency will strengthen our state and assist us to surmount the many challenges facing state governance.

“Nigeria needs an Atiku presidency because he has the most updated, relevant and responsive manifesto among all presidential contenders. His plan for Nigeria fits into the aspirations of Osun people for restructuring of the Federation, for local government autonomy, for anti-corruption, for better infrastructure, for national unity in diversity and for good governance.

“Our votes must go for Atiku Abubakar because he is the most tested and trusted with sterling records of performance in and out of government. A combination of Atiku Abubakar and Dr Okowa at the presidency will take Nigeria to a prosperous level locally and internationally.

“Let us go out to mobilise our people. Let us march out as we did during the governorship election to again win Osun with even bigger margins for PDP. Our task is to deliver entire Osun votes for Atiku/Okowa ticket. It is doable and we must deliver.

In the same vein, the Director General, PDP Presidential Campaign Osun State, Hon Sunday Bisi said it will be noted in the recent history of the nation’s political space, Osun has been the epicenter and the forerunner to social political happenstances. He opined, “We shape the orbit of the polity. Whatever is sowed here, good or bad, we must remember, has a way of impinging on wellbeing of the country.”

“We would recall that the EndSars movement, which shook our nation to the ribs and for which our youths and indeed, citizens of the country are today enjoying a bit of their fundamental right to free movement and association, had its root here in Osun State.

“As the 2018 Governorship Election in Osun was widely adjudged as one of the most controversial in the history of the country, so also was the presidential election in 2019.

“When PDP lost electoral contest here in 2014, that opened the wall for the present cankerworms destroying our nation with mo idea on how to stem the tide, to creep in with no venom spared to destroy every facet cording us together as a Nation.

“The significance of our action or inaction of our people here in Osun State, has always been a pointer to the next chapter of our democratic history.

“Therefore, as we have turned the page against enemies of humanity in our dear state, the wave is expected to sweep through the entire nation for a new dawn. And we have a task to make it happen.

“We have a task of cementing the heroics of our people at the last Governorship Election in the state. We have a task to cushion the seat of leadership of the state for the Governor-Elect in our State. We have a task to lead the way in electing Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria come February 2023.

Hon. Sunday Bisi said Atiku Abubakar is a goldfish and he is not hiding for the task at hand. He noted that the PDP Presidential Candidate is the most experienced of all the contenders in the coming election, that Atiku has belled the cat of a prepared candidate.

“He is fit like a fiddle. He is neither dangling nor shaking away from responsibilities expected of a presidential job seeker in a complex nation like Nigeria. Waziri is ready and we cannot lag behind as his lieutenants and partners in the victory race.

The former Osun State PDP Chairman said since his emergence as the Candidate, he has demonstrated beyond doubts, “He is prepared for the job he seeks from Nigerians.

“He has updated his policy documents in partnership with avalanche of best brains amongst our teeming youths, to ingrain the present realities of dear nation.

“He has advanced security as the main thrust of his agenda and we cannot agree with him less. The country is sinking on cracking security basement, requiring a pan Nigerian patriot like Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for retrieval intervention.

“Our party in Osun State, is poised to lead the way and galvanize support of our people to deliver Nigeria with an overwhelming victory.

“If there’s any entity in the country the National Leadershp of our party can count on for a bumper harvest of votes, Osun will stand to be counted.

“While we won’t be tempted to join issues with jesters in APC promising their candidate a phantom one million votes in the state, I urge the campaign council stakeholders to stand up to the reckless joke and put them in their place as we did on July 16.

“While they talk the talk in their usual manner of empty boasts, I urge us to walk the talk of crowning Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as the next president of Nigeria.

Osun state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) has emerged the first of the South West states to launch the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Council with Governor-elect, Senator Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke, describing Alhaji Atiku Abubakar the best candidate for Nigerian presidency due to his manifesto and his experience as the most tested of all the candidates.

The state chapter of the party also inaugurated the campaign headquarters which was officially handed over to the campaign Council by Senator Adeleke who is also the Chairman of the Campaign Council.

The party's State Caretaker Chairman, Dr Adekunle Akindele read out the names of the council which included all who is who within the party as well as a 10 man campaign management committee headed by the former state Chairman of the party, Hon Sunday Bisi.

The party Chairman told the council members and candidates for the National and State Assemblies in attendance that the campaign structure is also replicated at the local, ward and unit levels, directing that local chapters should proceed with the inauguration of their campaign committees without any delay.

" We have the instruction of his Excellency, the Chairman of the Campaign Council, Sen Ademola Adeleke to deliver over a million votes for the PDP presidential ticket. It is doable and we are set to deliver.

" Our task is well spelt out- deliver your unit at all cost. We are to take the campaign to the grassroots and ensure we turn out the votes for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. We have the full mandate of our Governor -elect who will be leading us from the front as the Chairman of the campaign council", Dr Adekunle noted.

Why Nigeria Needs Atiku Presidency -Ademola Adeleke

Speaking while inaugurating the campaign council, Senator listed several reasons why Nigeria needs an Atiku presidency, charging the Council to deploy massively to deliver Osun State to the PDP at the Presidential, National Assembly and State Assembly election.

"Our victory at the governorship election will be incomplete unless we deliver at the federal level. As your Governor in Osun state, I need a President of our party at the federal level to support me as I deliver our five point agenda to the good people of Osun State. An Atiku Presidency will strengthen our state and assist us to surmount the many challenges facing state governance.

" We appreciate the confidence reposed in us by the party leader in the state, Senator Adeleke. We will work to ensure Alhaji Atiku Abubakar emerges the winner at Osun presidential elections", Hon Bisi , who is also the former state chairman of the party.
