When it comes to new infrastructures , Buhari really tried . Maintenance of existing ones though- zero . Kudos to him on that . I hope he has packed his bags ? Can’t wait for him to be gone .

They re still working at the onitsha/owerri road link. While the Asaba linking point is still a virgin land, they haven't even done Bush clearing.

If only the money was used in education system or the money used to pay pensioners i would have like it. The bridge is nice but it is not supposed to be the number one priority

There is no civilians government in Nigeria that has done well in infrastructure like the Buhari led administration. The upgrade of our major airports (Lagos & Abuja), Rail project, Lagos-Ibadan road (90% completed), 2nd Niger Bridge e.t.c were done majorly under this administration.

But they failed woefully in the two most important areas, SECURITY & ECONOMY.

Good one. But the tolling is shortchanging the people of the East

Removal of tolling on federal roads is why we have bad roads.

Better the bridge is tolled. Oil money cannot meet all our needs.

Better all other roads are tolled too

Every top politcian, even soldiers since Shagari's time (1980s) used the 2nd Niger bridge to play okoso.

They promised and failed. Woefully.

It came to 1999, PDP took over. They used the bridge to campaign. They harvested unparalleled votes from SE people. Elections came and went. Nothing nothing.

It got to Jonathan, he promised to go on exile. Nothing nothing. Na Mali e dey go now sha on Buhari's behalf.

Atiku and Obi (Aki and Paw Paw) came too. They used the same bridge to campaign. Voice mail!

Ladies and gentlemen, the rejected stone has become the headstone. Buhari who is viølently hâted by a lot of the people has done it.

They even refused him audience with Ohanaeze. In fact, they didn't reply his letters. Man wrote thrice 2015, no response.

Everything Buhari wished to do, they mount barriers. Despite the distractions, the general with his commanding officer Fashola have delivered. Full dose.

They once said nothing was going on there. That it was a ruse. But today, they say Jonathan paid for it. Oh what a shame.

But we move. Fashola is a Tinubu protege. Where they were made, they keep promises. Tinubu will take the bridge template to other projects and deliver them.

That's the difference between substance and style. In this case, the Buhari government has earned both.
I salute them.

We were called names because of Buhari. But today, one of the biggest projects executed in Nigeria by government is that bridge. We, who support Buhari deserve accolades. Between us and those who support IPOB that imposed sit at home and múrder our people, it's obvious who loves the land.

May God bless Buhari and his team. The promise keepers. This is marvelous.

Thank you for your eloquence, I hope a bag of rice is 15,000 naira in your area sha? i hope you can travel on rail or train without whispering some prayers along your journey.

If you consider constructing a bridge is the ultimate achievement then Congratulations.
Government is continuous and it is their duty to deliver infrastructures without expecting applause from the nationals but we Nigerians do see the government effort as a favor.
We elected them for a purpose and if they can't deliver then they should quit and that is simple enough.

You borrowed trillions of naira for infrastructure and was only able to deliver 10% while the rest was looted by your cronies, plunging us into the highest figure of external depth in history. Now we're poverty capital of the world. Are there expecting gratitude from us? No it's a shame

APC failed!!!

Yeah APC failed by a mile to say the least, but is PDP any better? For a party who invested trillions in the power sector only to give us undiluted darkness, despite the fact that the price of crude oil tripled what we have now? They have no moral ground to seek power ever again, hence, they should crawl into any available hole abeg.

As much as Buhari failed in most aspects, he effectively delivered the second Niger bridge and construction of double lane road from Umunya to Awka...!! He tried and deserved some accolades, But his overall performances was nothing to write home about...

Pls quit this rather pedestrian posture of urs, there are tolled roads and bridges everywhere in the world this isn't new.

Would you rather pay a token for toll or have no new bridge into the east, consider the socio economic benefits of this bridge, this bridge alone will reduce transit time by 1hr or even 2 hrs, onitsha will be less congested and rapid development move out to the outskirts.

My brother what ever till u will pay on that bridge will be worth it and if u don't want to pay any toll, the old niger bridge is still available as an alternative and free.

Mounting tolling points on the yet to be completed 2nd niger bridge plus linking road that is just about 13.6km while the closely 500km completed northern roads and railways that are already in use but without a single tolling point. Isn't that the height of bigotry?
