PRESIDENT, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, has distanced himself from the revised list of members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and presidential campaign council wherein names of some officials of the organisation were featured.

In a statement on Thursday night, he said the umbrella Christian body will investigate the matter after which fair, but decisive and appropriate action will be taken.

The statement read, “My attention as President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has been drawn to the revised list of members of the Tinubu/Shettima 2023 President Campaign Council wherein the names of some outgoing officials of the body were featured.

“Such a development is worrisome because it counters the well-known stance of CAN on partisanship.

“I want to categorically exonerate my humble self from this development and any of such that may occur in the future.

“I want to use this medium to assure all Christians in Nigeria and the general public that since I received the news, I have commenced full investigation into how the officials got involved into overt partisanship.

“At the end of the probe, CAN will take a fair, but decisive and appropriate action with a view to defending the ideals of the umbrella Christian body I lead by the grace of the Almighty God.

“On a final note, I urge the general public to be calm while we collectively work to entrench a culture of inclusion and respect for our religious diversities in our political leadership.”

This guys never seem to learn from their past mistakes.
Their principal is even busy focusing on the North alone thinking those guys will leave their son and vote him instead undecided
Why not spread ur tentacles ND canvass for vote across the country.
His greatest undoing is him thinking that he has SW on lockdown and also believing that Imo, Ebonyi and Cross river is also in the bag coz they ve APC governors.
As for those States, they re for Obi ND Obi alone ND the required 25 percent won't go for a Muslim-muslim ticket either coz ATIKU will surely cum 2nd after Obi must ve taken the lion share from those States.

The APC adopted the same faith ticket in a country that has never attained nationhood. These warnings were not only ignored but dismissed in one fell swoop by the APC presidential candidate who strangely believes that he can build a strong, secure and viable nation-state without first forging a shared identity, vision and values for our people thereby enabling us transit from citizens of a country into a nation of people with strong shared identity and values. This moves by Tinubu just for the purpose of playing religious card to win Muslim votes up North, if allowed to sail through, can only bring disunity and religious crisis in the country Nigeria.

In their convoluted posturing, APC have placed state-building ahead of nation-building; a task never before achieved in history and we need no seer to tell us that such endeavor is guaranteed to end in spectacular failure. No divided people have ever built any civilization.
To demonstrate that the church is right, it is not alone in condemning the same faith ticket. Other prominent Islamic clerics and Muslim leaders have also spoken in the same light. It is a good omen that both Christian and Muslim elites are not complacent over this matter.

Thank God, Christians across the Nigeria have a very good choice in voting Peter Obi of the Labour Party to power come 2023. Peter Obi/Ahmed Datti ticket is the only choice that can truly restore peace and unify the country.

If you like distance yourself, it dosent stop all those CAN members on the list and millions of Christian to vote Asiwaju at the poll.
