The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto state said it had gained another set of defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2023 General Elections.

This is contained in a statement issued to newsmen by Bashar Abubakar, the Special Adviser to Sen. Aliyu Wamakko (APC-Sokoto North), on Tuesday in Sokoto.

According to Abubakar, the defectors, who were from Sabon Birni Local Government Area include the PDP Zonal scribe, Alhaji Musa and some ward executives.

He said that the new members were received on a brief occasion at Sabon Birni town by Alhaji Idris Gobir, the running mate of the APC governorship candidate, Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu.

Abubakar said, ”the scores of defectors were an indication that the leading party in the state had become a history.”

He reiterated APC’s commitment towards the provision of social amenities and working closely with all party members to meet the needs of people in the state.

The defectors said they joined APC in order to contribute their quota towards the victory of APC in 2023. (NAN)...

Bros when u are making permutations try as much as possible to have good knowledge of where u talking about.Nwaoboshi will struggle to make any reasonable impact in his native town of ibuzor while Osanebi will fail woefully in his local government.If u know how PDP structure is in Delta state u will remove ur mind from the state

Issele asagba is in Oshimili south
Uboh is from ekuku agbor.Her mother is from Ogbemudein quarters in Ika south. Ekuku agbor is in Ika south.
Ojougboh is from agbor, Ika south.
Victor Ochei is from ogbekenu in onicha olona in Aniocha north.
He shares the same LGA with Sen Nwoko and Hon Elumelu so his influence is minimal.

You can't be in the South and completely understand issues down here. Kwankwaso is more interested in Kano politics. He is popular but amongst a given population. He is not a serious threat or even a minor threat to the top three. With Same Faith ticket APC pushed her Christian supporters into LP and PDP thus reducing her chances in North especially in the North Central. States like Benue, Plateau, Nasarawa and the FCT ain't really in the pocket of the big two. Kogi & Niger could also pose a surprise. The battle is in the South where the big two have issues, and home to two out of the three major contenders. Atiku understands this and he is doing serious work in the North atleast that can guarantee him a top two finish should there be a run off. APC's patronage of the elites at expense of the poor in the North and her woeful performance is making it difficult for APC to gain acceptability amongst the talakawas. The ruinous campaign style of the APC is also making it difficult for Northerners to take it serious. Using Lagos to campaign is counterproductive in the North. Kwankwaso ain't focusing all his campaign on his days govt house neither is Obi and Atiku doing so. Little mention is given to the past but much focus is to a paradigm shift looking at contemporary happenings. Much of the media outing of APC handlers and supporters is to attack LP and PDP instead of speaking to our needs. LP and PDP are also guilty but on a lower scale. Propaganda don't sell all the time so attacking others while avoiding Buhari's administration's performance is a red flag to the electorates. PR has moved from the style APC is adopting. The average NIGERIAN knows truth. Here we say 'jiki magayi ne'.
