Lionel Messi was at his usual best Tuesday night; scoring twice and providing two assists as PSG romped to a 7-2 annihilation of Maccabi Haifa in their Champions League clash at Parc des Princes.
Messi's two goals mean he becomes the first player to score 80 goals in the group phase of the Champions League, Messi was denied a record ninth Champions League hat-trick by the crossbar.
There was another record for the Argentine too: unsurprisingly, Messi, at 35 years and 123 days, is now the oldest player in Champions League history to score and and assist twice in a single game.
His second strike means the Argentine has scored more goals from outside the box (23) than anyone else in the competition since his debut in 2004/05.
