do you have over 60 apps installed on your system? does your start menu/desktop look like this?

you can organize your start menu. to look like this:

do this by navigating to
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\
and
C:\Documents and Settings\User\Start Menu\Programs\

once here, you can creat folders labeled games, work tools, Multimedia,etc.you can create sub folders within these.you can then cut and paste the shortcuts to the diffrent folders.

go back to your start menu and voila! your menu is much more organised.from that point on , you can typicaly choose to install a program shortcut to one of the folders,during program installation.alternatively, you can relocate the shortcut to the folder of your choice after installing.

be warned though, some shortcuts shouldn´t be moved.an example is norton antivirus.it always gave an error message on startng when i relocated its shortcut from
C:\Documents and Settings\User\Start Menu\Programs\Norton Antivirus to

C:\Documents and Settings\User\Start Menu\Programs\Protection\Norton Antivirus


alternatively, you can download this app 8 start launcher.it resides on your desktop and can be called up via a hot key if you wish.you can configure it to referenec shortcuts in your startmenu, files on your computer, webpages ,etc.you can get it and skins here:  http://www.8start.com/

if you're using objectdock, you can create folders, place shortcuts in the folders, then drag the folders to object dock. from there, once you click on the icon in the dock, a drop down menu of the files, folders in the folder refernced appears


finally, you can drag icons/shortcuts to  quick launch in the taskbar.you can also choose to drag quick launch from the taskbar to the top, keft or right of your screen.quick launch is a toolbar.you can also create other tool bars and drag other icons to them.that way, you can have a toolbar for webpages, a toolbar for folder shortcuts, etc.
