News reaching us here shows that there has been a spec leak for Redmi Note 12 series.

The Redmi Note series is one of the most popular smartphone lines in the world selling in the tens of millions. It usually targets the midrange segment where it tends to offer a solid price to performance ratio.

The spec leak for Redmi Note 12 series shows that there are three phones in the line up. They are:
Redmi Note 12 Pro
Redmi Note 12 Pro+
Redmi Note 12 Extreme
Those with keen eyes and memories will notice that two popular variants are missing. These are the vanilla RN12 and the RN12S. This could indicate that these phones are probably meant for the Chinese market.


Redmi Note 12 Pro

The Redmi Note 12 Pro is the lowest device here. It packs a very impressive Dimensity 1080 SoC which is a very powerful SoC. It is capable of taking on anything you can throw at it.

There's a triple camera setup on board here, but the main camera is head and shoulders above the rest. It's a Sony IMX766 camera with Optical Image Stabilization. This is the first Redmi Note with this feature.

The display is a 6.67" OLED with FHD+ resolution. The display is Dolby certified, has HDR10+ support and a refresh rate of 240Hz. The battery is a standard 5,000mAh with a whopping 67W fast charge.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ shares a lot of similarities with the Redmi Note 12 Pro but it has two significant upgrades.

The first is that it has a much better 200MP Samsung HPX main camera and it's display packs a much faster 240Hz refresh rate.

All other specs for the SoC (Dimensity 1080), software (Android 12/MIUI 13), display and batteries remain unchanged.

Would these two upgrades be enough to make you pick the RN12 Pro+ over there Pro version?


Redmi Note 12 Extreme

This is the first time we'll be seeing an Extreme model for the Redmi Note series. Initially, I struggled to see what was so extreme about it until I saw the charging speeds! 210W! That's insane

As a compromise however, the Redmi Note 12 sacrifices a bit of battery capacity (4300mAh) for better fast charge.

All other specs are identical with those of the Redmi Note 12 Pro+.

What is this Na? I thought Redmi devices were supposed to be midrange devices? These phones come with OLED display, 120hz - 240hz refresh rate, the best 50mp smartphone sensor from Sony and Samsung's new 200mp sensor, over 200watts fast charging etc on supposed midrange devices?
These phones have even better specs than Google Pixel 7. Xiaomi is gradually turning the Redmi brand to a flagship one which may be good to some but I don't find it too interesting. This will make the device very expensive. The last time I checked, Redmi devices were already going for as high as 150k on Jumia, by the time this one lands, na 200k to 250k the price go be for a midrange. What am I even saying, this one is not a midrange self, na flagship.

Battery drains faster, sometimes there would be no internet connection on both Sims even if the 4g+ is seen displayed. I regret buying this phone. Xiaomi goof on this
