Galadima during an interview on Channels TV on Thursday said some unpatriotic elements in the ruling APC are putting pressure on the INEC chairman not to use the bimodal voter registration system (BVAS) for result transmission.

A former member of the All Progressives Congress' Board of Trustees, Buba Galadima has accused some chieftains of the APC of putting pressure on the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu to tamper with the Electoral Law.

Galadima during an interview on Channels TV on Thursday said some unpatriotic elements in the ruling APC are putting pressure on the INEC chairman not to use the bimodal voter registration system (BVAS) for result transmission.

He was the National Secretary of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), which was formed in the run-up to the 2011 general elections as a platform for former military ruler and incumbent President, Muhammadu Buhari.

Galadima and Buhari later fell out.

He said, “INEC chairman is under extensive pressure to tamper with the Electoral Act because the ruling party wanted to table an issue before the National Assembly such that they will force the chairman to write to National Assembly that it should not be compelling INEC to use the BVAS machine and this is the greatest disservice and an unpatriotic thing some elements in the ruling party are trying to put forward.

“They want to amend the Electoral Act, therefore, I want the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari to take note of some bad elements that want to smear his image when he leaves office.

“Listen to Senator Kabiru Gaya, the Chairman of Senate Committee on INEC who recently was on national television telling the world that INEC must be given an alternative either to use or not to use the BVAS because, in his own constituency of Daya which is in the middle of Kano State, there’s no network to transmit results. He’s only preparing the ground for what they have designed as a party because they know this election, they have lost."

He said his party, the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) is deeply rooted and that its presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, remains the man to beat in the 2023 election.

He noted that despite being a new party, the NNPP has become a role model for other political parties.

“Let’s assume it’s only Kano, Kano has registered voters of over six million people and any candidate that has a base starting from six million votes is the candidate to beat. So why should you leave a candidate with a base and chase the one that’s floating in the air which has no political base?

“All of them… which of the candidates has any base apart from Kwankwaso?" he asked.

He said when the NNPP presidential campaign team went to Akwa Ibom, they pulled a crowd 10 times the crowd pulled during the Peoples Democratic Party's southeast zonal rally.

“We are a new party; that’s why we made an innovation for the last two months to visit states to open our offices. Now we have become a role model that the APC and PDP are doing the same but they are 23 years old, it’s because they copied from us," he said.

He also accused other political parties of buying permanent voter cards (PVCs) from the electorate to erode Kwankwaso’s base, adding that with the help of Kwankwasiyya guards stationed in all northwestern states, there have been arrests.

He said those arrested were handed over to the police.

“If we are not the party to beat, why should other political parties budget billions of naira to buy PVCs all over the country because they thought the Talakawas who follow Kwankwaso must be disenfranchised not by rhetorics or by the campaign but by buying their PVCs off. This is what is happening and security agencies are not doing their jobs," Galadima said.

Galadima also said there’s no plan for NNPP to merge with another party as Kwankwaso’s "majority cannot work with another party’s minority".

He said, “How can the majority work for the minority? All the other parties are minorities as far as NNPP is concerned.

“Kwankwaso is the man to beat in this election and all the candidates put together, all of them let them produce one candidate and let there be a free and fair election. As far as Nigerians will vote, Kwankwaso will be the president."

He expressed confidence that the NNPP will win in all northern states and win some of the southern states to emerge as the president of Nigeria.

Galadima added that the PDP is nonexistent in the South because of its internal crisis and the emergence of the Labour Party's presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

He said, “First, PDP is not even on the ballot because the strength of the PDP is in the South-East which has been eroded by Peter Obi,l. The strength of the PDP next is in the South-South with (Governor Nyesom) Wike never supporting Atiku, South-South is gone.

"And with Udom (Emmanuel) not picked as the vice-presidential candidate, I don’t think he can use his money to counter Wike’s influence in the South-East and Wike is not only strong in the South-East, Wike commands 14 states of Nigeria for PDP; all of them follow him. Five serving governors, nine gubernatorial candidates outside PDP-controlled states all belong to Wike. It is what Wike decides that will happen in the PDP.

“In the North-East, (it is) completely Kwankwaso because he will win Taraba, Adamawa, Gombe, Bauchi including governorship.

“He will win the North Central, he will win the West; both combined is over 50 million voters and he will poach the South-South, part of South-East and also part of South-West. I assure you that all Nigerians who desire freedom, development, progress, their children should go to school, health services have no other person to vote for except Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso

So far, Professor Mahmood has done an excellent job at INEC.

If we have a free, fair and credible election in 2023, it will be easy for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for APC to win the election.

Criminals will always be criminals.

While Obi is talking to the masses, he and Atiku are busy meeting with rogues with big names. That is why they mock Obi to be structureless. They know how they manipulate their ways and rig the way they have always rigged. When you see big names gathering and planning, they are planning how to hold the masses at ransom and continue their stealing.

My advise for ordinary Nigerians is that the ball is now in their courts. If you want to continue in this endless slavery and hopelessness or do something different. It's shameful when I see jobless youths getting some crumbs from these crooks just to campaign for them.

INEC Chiarman now have a role as to whether to write his name in our history or be remembered as one of those who enslaved us.
2023 is an opportunity that we will regret forever if we miss. Shun their gang of thieves structure and vote a structureless party. QED

Why is Tinubu afraid of BVA ?

I thought he called himself jagaban

The 2023 presidential election has exposed Tinubu to be just a regional politician that climed to political height through rigging and manipulation of election results

Tinubu will not win any election without rigging and result manipulation

You don't know poverty, pain and dying can only go so far in keeping a people oppressed. Boya EndSARS is play to you, lol.

No worry; na the first leg be that.

Nigeria must rise to greatness again. H. E. Peters Obi will make it happen.

Hear him on terrorism.

First, let us note that this section of the interview was about security and the menace of banditry.

We begin at 33:09

FULL TRANSCRIPT OF THE SECTION OF ARISE INTERVIEW WITH PETER OBI @TONYEBARCANISTA POSTED

Rufai: OK, but Mr Peter Obi, it is not as easy as you just said it is. Should I tell you why? Because you have to buy more guns to fight the bandits that don't make people farm on the farmlands, to fight the bandits that killed 100 farmers in Zababare, to fight the legacy issues of infrastructure that would inhibit production, and a lot of people keep asking, you keep talking about production but as a businessman you used to import a lot into this country, those are some of the things they hold against you. You talk about production but you're a big net importer into this country. And, how will you solve those legacy issues? That's why we talked about security.

Peter Obi cuts in...

Peter Obi: Let me tell you, I talked about security, let me tell you, Rufai. I've been going around this country. I've visited 5 prisons and I can invite you to go to one with me. I sat down with some when I went into a prison, there were 1000 people and I interviewed 100.

Why were you involved in kidnapping?
I have no job!
Why were you involved in cultism?
I have no job!
Why were you involved in kidnapping?
I have no job!

And I said to them, how much were you paid in the last operation? Rufai, you won't believe it, N30,000, N25,000, N100,000. What this shows is that if these people can have a steady income of N50,000, they won't be involved in that. The more you pull people out of poverty, I've said repeatedly, the more you reduce criminality. We have these things in Brazil. I can show you countries where it has been practised. All these agitations and criminality were all over the place in Brazil until Brazil decided to do what I am telling you now, investing in these people. It means these things I'm going to do is going to reduce this criminality because they will be part of the farmers earning income. Today bandits are taking 8 local Governments in Niger state, I'm telling you if you put money in the farther land of Niger state, you'll reduce them by 50%. Because they've found something they're doing that'll give them money. What else do they want?

Rufai cuts in....

Rufai: You talked about Brazil, are you going to do social investment because it is under .....(Inaudible - PO and Rufai were speaking at the same time)

Peter Obi: I might not, I will do a combination of everything. There's a combination of everything. You're not going to do one straight thing. It's a combination of everything that will say, we are going to pull these people out of poverty, because the more we do it, so we deal with those legacy issues. On the issue of what my importation is, let me tell you what I did and I'll like to refer to Reuben cos I've known Reuben for over 30 years. Go and ask anybody what my business is, that is what I even studied. If you go and read what I studied at Harvard, it's market-to-market management. I'm marketing, I'm a distributor. Go and ask Coca-Cola, they're in Nigeria, ask other people as at the time I was in business, I was one of their biggest distributors. It's like seeing Walmart, Walmart today sells goods from Vietnam, India, etc but they don't manufacture them.
