An Engineering firm on the Island is looking for Procurement Officers to join the team. RESPONSIBILITIES . Assist in the selection of appropriate suppliers and contractors, to promote good procurement practice with due regard to sustainability, ethical purchasing standards and costing. . Work with internal departments to determine procurement needs, quality and delivery requirements. . Responsible for order placement timing, supply / demand alignment, material replenishment and supplier performance. . Monitor, evaluate and improve supplier performance, according to an appropriate Service Level Agreement, on a continuous basis. . Review inventory and update as required and make or purchase policy analysis and recommendations. . Developing procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective. . Sourcing and negotiating with reliable suppliers/vendors to secure advantageous terms. . Approving purchase orders, organising and confirming goods procured . Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements. . Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs with vendors. . Preparing weekly procurement reports and draft, send and follow up on invoice payment. . Follow up on contract and licence renewal and other duties as directed by the management. REQUIREMENTS . B.sc in Economics, Accounting or relevant qualification . Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policy, and systems . Minimum 2 years’ experience as a procurement officer or related position . Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) . Must live in Ajah or its environs . Ability to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions . Ability to negotiate, establish, and administer contracts . Excellent verbal and written communication skills . Accurate and precise attention to detail .
