Boy, this is embarrassing.

Africa is pretty much the only continent with basically no electricity still and we are now in the year 2022. Why aren't we, the people, demanding more from our governments and holding them responsible? This is pretty unacceptable.

African governments can't even keep their own roads and pavements in good condition much less maintaining their railways which they left to rot after colonialism ended. Ghana is a great example, 980km of rail lines upon independence left by the Brits, now less than 100km is functional. So, you expect them to provide basic government services like electricity? HA!

Nigeria, "giant" of Africa, still uses generators for god sake.

Bruh, most of the railways went from inland mines and planations sometimes cutting through entire communities back to the sea ports to export back to Europe to feed their industries. They never connected communities or such to economic hubs, they served no purpose or development for actual natives living there only the colonial parasite sucking the mineral wealth from its host like a mosquito to sweet nectar of human blood only leaving behind disease in its wake (Malaria).

According to Statista's report, people with electricity access in Ghana was 83.5% in 2019 just behind South Africa which has seen a 6% increase to 90% in 2020. Nigeria's government is seriously doing the nation no justice, Ghana is like waaay ahead of them.
