When Zerubabel son of Shealtiel and Jesua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the whole remnant of God’s people began to obey the message from the Lord their God. When they heard the words of prophet Haggai, whom the Lord their God had sent, the people feared the Lord. Then Haggai, the Lord’s messenger gave the people this message from the Lord. “I am with you says the Lord!”

God delights in the repentance of a sinner. It doesn’t matter the kind of sin you have committed in the past, it could have been “Advanced Fee Fraud (419)”, stealing, murder, etc.). Once you realize you have sinned, you call upon the name of the Lord, He is willing to forgive, but if you refuse to repent of your sins, continuous stagnation is inherent.

In Haggai chapter One, God sent Prophet Haggai to the Israelites to tell them the reasons why they were experiencing stagnation in various aspects of their lives. He said they have not been taking the things of God seriously and God is punishing them for not obeying His commandments. He said they were acquiring wealth for themselves and their family members but are not doing anything for the house of the Lord Almighty.
