On Saturday, more than a thousand protestors flooded the streets of Accra, the capital of Ghana, demanding the resignation of President Nana Akufo-Addo in the midst of an economic crisis that has sent petrol and food prices soaring to record highs.

The red-clad mob filed through riot police while waving signs and chanting "Akufo-Addo must go" and "IMF no" in response to the government's ongoing talks with the IMF to secure billions of euros to shore up the economy.

As consumer inflation hit 37.0% in September, a 21-year high despite significant policy tightening, the president of Ghana sought to reassure citizens this week that the authorities will bring the country's finances back on track.

"We demand his resignation due to his dismal performance. The people of Ghana are dying due to the constantly rising cost of fuel "said protester Rafael Williams.

In a country where, according to the World Bank, over a quarter of the population lives on less than $2.15 per day, this calm protest was the latest in a series of demonstrations this year over the rising cost of living.

Among the worst-performing currencies in a region hit hard by the global economic slowdown is Ghana's cedi, which has fallen by more than 40% versus the dollar this year. Ghana is a major producer of gold, cocoa, and oil.

"Here, we are communicating with the IMF. Do not lend them money, "one protester, tailor Francisca Wintima, stated.

So let me ask oooo which roads were listed in the green book and that time Ghanaians kept mute on it, or all the roads in the green book were just painted for the messiah that some people are calling him to come back?
